We could take apart the laser, use it to cut up the station and make ourselves a bit more mobile... or invent something...

If it is a laser, we can maybe just fasten it into a weapon?

I am not suggesting we attack anyone, but perhaps we could offer or services as guards, or something related to our unit.

Mining also requires climbing, right? So, we could likely repurpose the same tools to climb mountains . . .
