[You wake alone with your unit in what appears to be a dressing room. There's nothing on the costume racks right now, but you have vanity seats and a couch to chill on if you like.

On a table in the center of the room, there is an ornate metal box with three slots on top. The slots are labeled with the names of three other units: BAD END=DEAD END, future is now, & BARiTONES. Next to the box a laminated copy of the IC rules is taped down, and beside it lie four cards:

♦ a green card with a picture of two linked rings and the word "WED"
♦ a blue card with a picture of a rose and the word "BED"
♦ a red card with a picture of a guillotine and the word "BEHEAD"
♦ a purple card with a picture of two circling arrows and the word "INSTEAD"

Well, it can be tough to pick because of that. I guess... do you want us to try to protect one of those units in particular?

It sounds like Lucifel wants to send future is now "wed," but if we use "instead" on them we might just end up taking it back for ourselves in exchange for our worst card.

If everyone sent us something lighter, that might still even out to them getting bed instead of behead, but...

...I'm not sure. That's the worst part of it. It doesn't look like any of us are very close to those units, so it's hard to guess what they're going to do.

Right. And it sounds like a unit will die this time, so... if it isn't us, we'll have to help with that, too.

When people die, their wounds need to be healed before pep!pep! uses their power to revive them. Otherwise they'll just be alive with all those wounds, see?

My backpack should be around here somewhere, so worst come to worst we can get someone to find it for us. I always keep a bunch of emergency food with me in case we need to heal. It might be a good idea to find some easy to stash food from the conbini and keep it on you in case you need it.
