[You wake alone with your unit in what appears to be a dressing room. There's nothing on the costume racks right now, but you have vanity seats and a couch to chill on if you like.

On a table in the center of the room, there is an ornate metal box with three slots on top. The slots are labeled with the names of three other units: BAD END=DEAD END, future is now, & BARiTONES. Next to the box a laminated copy of the IC rules is taped down, and beside it lie four cards:

♦ a green card with a picture of two linked rings and the word "WED"
♦ a blue card with a picture of a rose and the word "BED"
♦ a red card with a picture of a guillotine and the word "BEHEAD"
♦ a purple card with a picture of two circling arrows and the word "INSTEAD"

Lucifel suggested wed future is now, bed BAD END, behead BARiTONES, and use "instead" on future is now to take their best card for our worst card.

Why behead Baritones over Bad End?

Because BAD END usually gets the short end of the stick in these games, and BARiTONES is known for playing hard no matter what. The people there seem to understand that protecting yourself means hurting others, so I'm sure that even if we tried to play lightly against them, they'll do whatever it takes to defend themselves anyway.

That just makes it sound like Baritones is the worse unit to make an enemy of, though.

My impression is they're pretty business-like about it, so I'm not sure if they'd consider it worth becoming "enemies" over or anything. I could be wrong, of course.

I just know someone on BAD END who's been trying to look out for us when she can, so even if we're not her priority, I'd feel bad hitting them with the worst thing we've got.

I mean, he's dropped dead once without that much provocation. But on the other end, I've seen enough people fall to his schemes that I'm not going to underestimate him, either. I know I can pass under his radar, though? So I'll deal.

Don't apologize, that's just so annoying. We're already putting us as our first priority, yeah? If you don't feel that's good enough, that's on you. And if I felt I couldn't handle it, that'd be my problem.

So you have plenty on your plate already. Add more problems to your load like, after you've already taken care of that much. You don't do anyone any good if you collapse or miss something actually important because you're splitting your attention too many ways.
