The street that led you here stops abruptly - and from here you can see a square below, the buildings surrounding it ablaze, and in the center of the square... a giant firebird. It looks injured, a wing hanging limply - but even as you watch, a glow surrounds the creature, mending the wing.
But it's a pointless endeavor. As soon as it's healed, the bird gives a screech, rising up into the air... and almost immediately throwing itself at the surrounding buildings, not caring about the injuries to itself. Again the glow, the healing, again the mindless thrashing; repeat, repeat, repeat.
[Getting in the way of a firebird is an incredibly stupid idea.
So of course that's exactly what she's doing, rushing over into it's bath and putting herself directly in it's way, hopefully before it can do any more damage to itself.
The fear in her heart exists only for this creature. It's not that she doesn't care for her own well being, but rather... that in her heart she believes with absolute certainty that it wouldn't intentionally hurt her.]
Serenity turns out to be right. The bird rears back, almost scrambling away from her once it notices her on the ground under itself. There is shock, fear, confusion, the great creature collapsing on its side, one wing half-crushed, the other flapping uselessly... But despite the scorching heat in the air, the fire doesn't seem to hurt Serenity.
[The heat is the furthest thing from her mind-- she can handle it. What she needs to do is quickly asses it's wounds and find out what she can do to help.]
Shh... it's okay. I'm here-- I want to help you, okay?
[Frowning at the position it's fallen in. She gently places a hand on it's flapping wing.]
We need to get you upright so I can treat your wounds. To do that, I'm definitely going to need your help.
