HALLOWEREWOLF - Taisho Roman Revolution

[ You enter a room with paper sliding walls and tatami mat floors. The room is dark, dimly lit only by a screen on one wall emitting white noise. Tapping on it will dispel the static to show the words WHO IS LYING? and a list of the unit names to choose from. You may vote for yourselves.

Taisho Roman Revolution is the hunter. ]

The hunter has no night action. If the hunter is voted to be executed, they can choose another unit to "shoot," and that unit will also die. The hunter is a villager and wins if at least one Liar unit is killed.

If the hunter's role is changed during the night, they will not know their new role, however they will be informed that their ability to "shoot" another unit has been removed.

If I understand this correctly, provided we are not told our role is changed there is no disadvantage to our being forthright from the start. Once we are in public, I will begin play by announcing our unit role to the other gathered idols.

How are we supposed to play, then?

The liklihood we have become liars or followers is slim but existent. Gathering information on who was likely to be the theif and whose role they took is our best chance of figuring out what we are. If we had our role altered by the drunk, there is absolutely no telling. It may be best to be honest, still, simply going by the low chance that we have become Liars or aligned with them.

Do you want to try to figure it out, first? If we announce who we were and that we were swapped, and then someone can figure out we swapped with a Liar, we'll be in trouble.

We could lie to begin with, simply to see what information that nets us.

Lie how?

Claim to be the villager. It gives us an easy solid claim to not having a night action, and not knowing what happened through the night. It also is not entirely false, though it is less likely to flush out information from others as claiming to be the troublemaker would— if we do that, it would almost certainly flush them out and we could find whose role they gave us.

But we don't know if it was the troublemaker or the thief, right? Maybe just claiming to be a villager is the best plan... whoever took our role might announce it, if not right away, then to avoid execution at some point.

It's a defensive play, and is not likely to give us much information. It is also a play that will back AlcheME's claims, as Azrael says the villager is out of play. Still, I will say it for now.

Yes. Unless another reveals to be the villager, it will not put Azrael's claims at risk.

It's a bit helpful, actually... if someone else claims they're a villager, they're probably telling the truth. I don't think anyone else would use that as their lie when we've already said we're the only villager there is.

Yes. Though I have a feeling it may simply be putting off the villager from confessing, now. At least we have revealed the truth of the matter, with time running short.
