hunger games: session 6
[ You find yourself in your respective unit's zone, with a mini-map on your phone, as well as your objectives:

Kill as many competitors as you can.
Destroy zones by breaking their statues.
Not enough action = We start killing you :)
Underneath the objectives is the number of revivals you have left, as well as whatever miscellaneous details about scoring points—killing a unitmate results in negative points, five units will be healed at most, etc.
The starting horn sounds. Let the games begin. ]

Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
So, don't get me wrong. I don't care that much about traditions or rituals in general. A lot of that stuff's why Kazdel's the way it is. Why Terra's the way it is. But when it comes to respecting people's memories? That's important. When you witness someone, you're promising to remember them, so they never fade. When you take up their blade, though? The most important thing they left behind, the physical record of their final moments, of the things they faced before they died?
You're promising to carry those memories. Everything they were, you'll become. That's what it means.
Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
I remember another Lord of Sarkaz, and his towering rage at the betrayal of his people, and the injustice of it all—
I still feel it. That kind of thing—I wouldn't set it down, and I couldn't. But her... Her Majesty—I don't remember her at all, yet.
...what was she like?
Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
"Like Rhodes Island. A name makes things feel so much warmer, doesn't it?".
Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
Speaking of which—what is your name? I'm Eirene.
Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
Don't remember. And I just woke up here today in this warzone all alone without a team to fall back on. None of this gear I picked up belongs to anyone, so...I'm just me, I guess. Whoever that is.
Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
I don't know if I'm worthy to suggest one to you. But when you have one, I'd be honored to know it, Miss.

And it's something to remember.
Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
But I think a name, like "Rhodes Island," is a statement of what something or someone wants to be.
Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
They asked me what kind of name I wanted, when I got here... "Eirene" is a goddess of peace, they tell me.

Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
I just knew Her Majesty, and so far you're not doing a good job at proving that that doesn't mean I know you.
Re: UNDERGROUND SEWERS
I can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
