Drunk Cards - Saturday session

RULES

  • Decide on a turn order. On your turn, draw a card using this handy-dandy card generator.
  • Each card has a challenge. If you refuse to perform the challenge, you must take a drink.
  • If you really do not want to play, you may forfeit. However, you will not be eligible to turn in your score for that session at the end.
  • No cheating. Some cards specifically ask the player to conceal the card until after an action is performed. However, you may not conceal your card in an attempt to avoid the challenge. If you do, you will be magically compelled to show the card AND take a drink. Similarly, if you lie during a challenge in order to avoid drinks or make someone else drink, you will be magically compelled to drink regardless of what the challenge was.

OOC NOTES

  • Powers are on, player items are available.
  • Drinks may be alcoholic or non-alcoholic. All types of drinks are provided, so pick whatever you'd like. Alcoholic drinks may cause loss of inhibition, but that's not magic. That's just how alcohol works.
  • No significant harm may come to other characters. Minor/sexy injuries are allowed, but if characters try to injure each other for real, they will find themselves magically unable to do so. For example, if a character tries to stab someone, the knife will suddenly (and permanently) turn into a harmless foam knife. Someone who uses a power to cause harm will suddenly find the power stops working mid-strike. A gun fired at another character will suddenly jam, etc.
  • Table assignments are here. You can rearrange yourselves however you like.

HOW TO WIN

  • Submit your scores here. Scoring ends 4 hours after game start AKA 4 PM PST / 7 PM EST / 1 AM GMT. You can keep threading after that if you want, though.
  • 3 winners are individuals who have had the least number of drinks.
  • 3 winners are units who have taken the fewest average number of drinks.
  • You may play in as many sessions as you like. Choose your best session for turn-in.

Is there something particular about the house in particular that would prevent them from enjoying such a gesture?

What, the high houses? Well, they're exceptionally formal, known for standing on ceremony... home to some excessively stuffy milords and ladies... virtually anything that isn't handed down by the Fury herself and backed by thousands of years of tradition gets looked at askance, by some of them.

Only but tell them it's cultural and they should have to play along. Because the refusal would be no less ill-mannered of them, would it not?

I see. So they are those that are bound by tradition to the extend of inflexibility, not able to allow new customs in as they are too preoccupied with the old ways.

That would be a fair summation, yes. It's only exceedingly recently that they've started allowing foreigners in without getting special dispensation from one of the high houses or another.

Yes, I am quite familiar with this style of government. The neighboring country of Inazuma also bars its doors to many foreigners or relegates them a single location within their nation.

I can only presume it a natural reaction, in times of strife. A tiresome and exceedingly parochial one, but natural.

When backed into a corner, people are capable of equally wonderful and terrible things.
