[you find yourself in this derelict village, with not a soul to be seen—but before you is this station wagon:

for all intents and purposes, this baby is a simple "honk, steer, pedal to go, brakes to stop" vehicle that anyone with opposable thumbs can drive. despite its age, it does have a handy GPS system that displays paths you can take, but fails to identify anything like landmarks or other worldly features. last but not least: its paint job is done in your unit's color!

The following can be found in the trunk/dashboard:
• Icepicks
• These 5 Bone Saws
• A surgical set
• A single miniature of 99 Bananas
• one large first aid kit containing nothing but bandages and bandaids]

[A beat, and then another. Then, quieter:]

If, uh. If the water don't work, maybe we oughtta just rip em off. That's probly, like. Better? Losing a little skin ain't the end of the world.

[He sighs, resigned.]

That is why I brought the kit with me, in truth. The thought occurred to me.

[He rests a hand on Hurricane's shoulder.]

I'll be as careful as I can be, but I can't numb the pain like SensitIV.

Hey, it's cool.

I'm like half-frozen, right? I'll probly barely feel it.

[There's no time for him to debate with himself about whether that is true or not, so he removes a utensil from the kit, resting his hand on Hurricane's wrist.]

Do not move until I'm finished. I don't want you to cause more damage to your hand. This will likely still hurt a great deal as I'll have to cut your palm away essentially.

[He truly hates it, but he has steady hands despite the cold. If Hurricane doesn't protest he will begin by making a small cut into his palm where it meets the metal up to the end of his thumb. He's cutting deeply enough to remove the layer that is stuck to the bar.

His brows are creased, focusing on his task and doing his best to ignore Hurricane should he react at all and make him lose focus. He works carefully at each finger, basically cutting the shape of his fingers so as to pull each free. There will likely be quite a bit of blood.]

[He starts to make a pained sound - however numb he is from the cold, it apparently isn't numb enough - beginning to attempt to jerk his hand away]

[He catches himself, before he can do much more than tug - bites down on his lip, hard, to stifle the noise, and forces himself to be still. He's trembling, a little, and it's hard to say whether it's entirely from the cold. Finally, when one hand is almost done:]

Blood's starting to freeze.

I'm sorry-

[He's trying to be quick but also trying to be careful. It is very hard to do both when it involves causing Hurricane pain no matter what.]

Please be careful not to bite your tongue.

[He feels so horrible right now, but once his hand is free he immediately tries to disinfect it with a bit of alcohol and bandage it. He then pulls off one of his gloves for Hurricane to bite down onto if he needs to. Luckily he has small hands.]

I'm going to cut your other hand free.

[Giving his wrist a reassuring squeeze and waiting for Hurricane to nod before he starts again.]

It's - it's cool, you're gonna be freezing without your glove. I got, like -

[Biting down on the wrist of the bandaged hand, surely that's fine,]

Being cold for a few moments is a small price to keep you from covering yourself in bite marks.

[Well, if he doesn't want to, he can't stop him, but he still feels bad and works as efficiently as he can to free his other hand, clean, and then bandage it. Once he's wearing both gloves again, he rubs Hurricane's shoulder.]

Come warm up in the car. You can rest there.
