HEART SOLDIER SENSHI
[you find yourself in this derelict village, with not a soul to be seen—but before you is this station wagon:

for all intents and purposes, this baby is a simple "honk, steer, pedal to go, brakes to stop" vehicle that anyone with opposable thumbs can drive. despite its age, it does have a handy GPS system that displays paths you can take, but fails to identify anything like landmarks or other worldly features. last but not least: its paint job is done in your unit's color!
The following can be found in the trunk/dashboard:
• Icepicks
• These 5 Bone Saws
• A surgical set
• A single miniature of 99 Bananas
• one large first aid kit containing nothing but bandages and bandaids]

Re: ONE OF YOU ARE FREEZING!
Take these.
[ He offers them to her as he crouches next to her, lying out bandages and gauze to deal with the inevitable bleeding. ]
Once you tell me you are ready, I will count to three. After that, just concentrate on yourself, all right? I will handle the rest.
Re: ONE OF YOU ARE FREEZING!
[Her voice is steady enough, at least.
[She breathes, just that: she counts ten of them. Focuses on the cold, the dizziness, the numbed and dizzy sensation that is drinking to take the edge off. Then Alisaie closes her eyes, she places one of the rolled-up gloves between her teeth. She nods.]
Ready.
[She'll never be that. But what choice does she have?]
cw: amputation
One.
Two.
[ And then the sharp pain of her hand being removed in a single precise stroke ]
Re: cw: amputation
[It's quick as it could be. It's even merciful. She'd been right, about the saws, and saving them--
[It hurts. It hurts it hurts it hurts: so much she's left gasping and choking on the leather, tears standing out in her unbandaged eye as she struggles to catch her breath again. Alisaie doesn't dare look down at the - the wound, the site, call it what you may, she doesn't want to see it. Not now.
[Her muscles have been tensed, of course. Now she slumps.]
Re: cw: amputation
But after the last knot is tied and the last piece of gauze is wrapped, Alisaie will feel herself being lifted into Zhongli's arms. ]
Re: cw: amputation
[Alphinaud.
[He's still in there. Even if she can't do anything for him, not now, not like this... she can't just walk away from him. Can'[t just let herself--
[She struggles against it, pushes against his chest with her good arm: tries to lift her head, and the world pivots sickeningly all about her and her vision fades to buzzing grey static, and her muscles turn to water and there's nothing to do but hate it and hate it and let it happen.]
Re: cw: amputation
But he does not allow her to squirm out of his grasp either. ]
I know you would disagree with me if you could. But if you wish to save your brother, then the best chance we have is winning this game.
And to increase our chances of that, I need you to walk across that finish line with me.
Re: cw: amputation
[It sounds very small and forlorn. Even the attempt to punctuate it with one last shove at his chest doesnt change that. Probably, Alisaie thinks disgustedly, it merely served to make her look even more pathetic.
[They should have just left her to die--
[He wouldn't want that, something in Alisaie murmurs, the part of her that knows damn well she'd die for Alphinaud if it came to it; the part of her that knows she can't deny him, now that he wants her to live for him. He'd never forgive you. Don't you dare.]
Alphinaud...
[And, as the tension bleeds from her body, as the tears come unbidden, and spill slowly from the corner of her one good eye, she tells herself she simply can't fight any more.]
