[you find yourself in this derelict village, with not a soul to be seen—but before you is this station wagon:

for all intents and purposes, this baby is a simple "honk, steer, pedal to go, brakes to stop" vehicle that anyone with opposable thumbs can drive. despite its age, it does have a handy GPS system that displays paths you can take, but fails to identify anything like landmarks or other worldly features. last but not least: its paint job is done in your unit's color!

The following can be found in the trunk/dashboard:
• Icepicks
• These 5 Bone Saws
• A surgical set
• A single miniature of 99 Bananas
• one large first aid kit containing nothing but bandages and bandaids]

[the GPS can talk, and it sounds a lot like God's voice]

Do please choose between the following blessed paths!

[the GPS screen then shows four paths fanned out in different directions, and reads aloud the vague directions in, once again, God's glorious voice]

1) LEFTMOST PATH

2) LEFT PATH

3) RIGHT PATH

4) RIGHTMOST PATH

[the GPS does not give you any hint as to which goes where. just like God herself, it's entirely unhelpful.]

[ HE IS DRIVING and his ass is probably in the back seat. cars aren't made for horses. ] ...hm. Which... direction...

[He is absolutely the person that lets the other person drive.]

Simply random? Then I have naught an opinion. Go which ever direction you desire.

[He pats his shoulder.]

Did you take a look at our cargo. It's not too inviting. [ a laugh as he tries to kick the seat back, so he can be more comfortable. ]

It seems random. I don't know or care, if I'm being honest... so...

[ time to jerk this thing to the leftest path. ]

LEFT MOST PATH

THE FENCED AREA
The path you've chosen leads you towards a closed iron gate. As ornate and lovely as it is, there's no clear reason for its existence—there's no house, no garden... if it doesn't exist to keep others out of the village, it simply exists to be a pain.

EVENT: It's impossible to drive through the fence, try as you may. One person will need to get out and open it. However, in doing so, their hand(s) will freeze to the gate. Trying to pull themself free won't do the trick, so the use of some tools will be necessary.

Will you take the LEFT PATH or the RIGHT PATH?

If we're going to be cutting our limbs off I'll just gnaw mine off. I'll give you the clean cut of a bone saw. [ nudges him with his tail. ]

[Looking at the gate and then the vehicle.]

Perhaps we should have upgraded to a more armored version?

Let's try to keep all of our limbs if we can.

... [ stares at the fence through the windshield and huffs. ] I think that would defeat the purpose of all the suffering we're meant to endure. [ going to attempt to nudge the gate open with the car, but, yep, that sure is a sturdy gate. ]

Well who would you like to try to pry it open first, you or I? I suppose whomever gets injured least would need to drive.

How about you go, since you'll have an easier time getting out of this cramped car. I can assist if you need a hand though.

[ manages to fall out of the car after some wrestling with his everything. he's got the first aid kit in hand. ] What happened?

I do believe now we know whey provided us with so many sharp objects.
