[At the top of the cage hangs a trinket or a piece of jewelry of some kind. It seems to have been decorated with the piece of an antler. However, without getting past the man blocking his way, Persephone cannot reach it.]

[He moves to stand between Persephone and the cage, bats begin separating from him fluttering about and returning to reshape the parts of him that were the bats, not unlike Kaguya's butterflies.]

[that's fine. he's run and danced on water like it was solid. using old furniture as leverage, to run across and up the piles of old furniture like solid ground, trying to make his way to the cage that way.

for a moment, black wisps surround his skin.]

[Hmm don't like that one bit. What once was a man, now shifts into a swarm of black and angry bats which then become a large black dog that lunges towards him.

He's a very angry dog and does not want you to get near the cage. Should Persephone get too close, he's going to lose a few fingers or something else important if he's not careful.]

Kaname immediately turns his attention from Persephone to Vergil, snarling a warning. He immediately lunges for Vergil, teeth bared, and attempts to take a bite.]

[He at least tries to side step it - without his sword he's not a total cheater, but he is fast! Hopefully. Because he wants to climb that cage like the feral man he is.]

[Look at Vergil being a total bad ass and climbing the cage! Vergil has acquired a very nice bracelet, complete with a piece of antler hanging on it. :)

Does he need to go though? What if this makes him feel at home?? ...okay maybe he'll head back.]

There's, ah, something important on top of the cage. That he is, ah, guarding...

[looking around for something that he can throw up there to knock it down.]

[What if he doesn't care about a vicious dog. He looks over at it all, and just starts climbing.]

I will, ah, try to distract it.

[and he will start to sing.]

[Success! He hops back down after grabbing the bracelet, and hands it over to Persephone. Because that seems wiser honestly.]

[takes it and tucks it securely away in the pocket in his petticoats.] Ah, there...

[He nods.]

I wouldn't have thought singing to it would be effective. Good job.

I've, ah, done similar in situations back home, so I thought it was worth trying again.

[well, fortunate. keeping an eye out for an opening.]

[Alas, the dicebot is not with you both today, which is why Kaname moves in closer, attempting to press both back and away. from the cage. That isn't to say the rest of the basement is barred to them. There's still furniture and the like. It's all very comfy if you ignore the smell of blood all over the place.]

[fine. while Vergil is still climbing, Persephone will start singing to try to distract Kaname, sweet and soft and clear and with a thread of Essence behind it. performance is his world-shattering talent, a master of it, and it's clear in how he sings.

just listen to his song, bat-dog. listen to his song-]

[Wow, that sure is a nice song.... he is very distracted.]

[and will keep singing, in order to keep him distracted.]

[Once Vergil has the bracelet and Serenity and Lupine have made their way here, Kaname changes back.]
