Nemesis and Hurricane's Ideal World: Session 2

[The sky above is a deep, unnatural crimson, filled with roiling clouds and creatures that are a sickly oil-slick black. They writhe and wriggle like something out of a Lovecraftian nightmare; they have entirely too many eyes, and entirely too many wings, and when they open their mouths, they have entirely too many teeth]

[Below them, the city of Tokyo is half-shattered; above the rooftops, mechanized suits the size of people hover in the air, darting in out of the chaos, laser blasts and explosions and wickedly sharp blades fighting tirelessly against the endless onslaught]

[Until finally, the last creature falls]

[All at once, civilians flood the streets of the city; the lights come on in all the buildings, which somehow have become whole again, safe and unharmed. A cheer goes up from the crowd. Overhead, a stunning fireworks display paints the night with light and color]

[And they all lived happily ever after]

[The end]

--Hey, you made it! Trip over wasn't too bad, was it?

Not at all. I saw a most brilliant display of fireworks and was rather charmed. I see you had a similar idea.

So how does it feel?

Being a hero? I mean, that part's same as basically ever, right? But having our own place's pretty sweet. 'S nice being able to--rest, for once.

Oh, put us to work. Gathering kindling from the woods. Prepping meals. I’m sure everyone would be delighted.

Nah... We can handle that much. You can just chill and check out the sunset if you want. Plenty of time to chat at the party, anyways!

[She gets to her feet, offering a fistbump before heading for the ladder herself]

Ah, before you go. Might I ask what the purpose of that statue and building are for?

[He points at the distance.]

[Snooping around their belongings! Looking for a snack out of place.]

[There are lots of snacks--the rice crackers they'd been munching on, and those little koalas filled with (fake) chocolate, and pizza chips with the real(?) cheese on them--just waiting here for anyone to munch on]

[He is absolutely taking the chocolate koalas and heading down from the roof and into the woods.]

[they are fuckin delicious]

Naw, dude. You'e a little early, but better early than late, right?

I can’t say my timing was always the most appropriate. You expect everyone to gather here?

Naw, dude, out front of the house. We ain't set up for the party just yet, but give us like a couple hours, kay?

Ah. Where the children were playing. Relatives?

[He leans back on his hand and closes his eyes. The purpose is to listen. To see if anything is out of place. Perhaps the wind creaks the branches too harshly or the sounds of scratching come from somewhere else.]

...naw. They didn't have no one left, so. Y'know. Figured we should give em a place to go.

You can stop by and say hi to em at the rescue, if you want.

But hey, look. We really gotta get going on the party prep if we're gonna get done in time. See you there, okay? Don't be late!

[He stands as he's talking - makes his way over to the ladder, and gives a little wave]

[Then he's climbing down, off to go see to the party prep]

[But he's not here any more to answer the question; he's speedy like that]

[Foiled again! Well the he is going to snoop where Hurricane was just sitting to see if he left anything that isn’t snacks and stargazing.]
