[The sky above is a deep, unnatural crimson, filled with roiling clouds and creatures that are a sickly oil-slick black. They writhe and wriggle like something out of a Lovecraftian nightmare; they have entirely too many eyes, and entirely too many wings, and when they open their mouths, they have entirely too many teeth]

[Below them, the city of Tokyo is half-shattered; above the rooftops, mechanized suits the size of people hover in the air, darting in out of the chaos, laser blasts and explosions and wickedly sharp blades fighting tirelessly against the endless onslaught]

[Until finally, the last creature falls]

[All at once, civilians flood the streets of the city; the lights come on in all the buildings, which somehow have become whole again, safe and unharmed. A cheer goes up from the crowd. Overhead, a stunning fireworks display paints the night with light and color]

[And they all lived happily ever after]

Find who? I hadn't been looking for anybody. I know we're meant to find Hurricane and Nemesis, but what's the point when I won't be able to convince them this place is bullshit. I did find his mom though, and she's a busted piece of work.

Got a nifty toy from her. [ aka he swiped it. it's a laser gauntlet and he's currently wearing it. ]

[ She is unusually preoccupied but does glance at the new toy ]

What's her problem? Anything we can use?

Not that I saw. Just this. And she seems to want to say certain things, but I'm guessing because she never has she can't. It's like a projection of what he wants, but sadly cannot have.

[ Drawing a very long breath, very clearly trying not to lose it. her eyes flare bright glowing red, but she keeps tight enough hold on it. ]

I'm going to need to beat the hell out of something after this.

We may find things here to beat up. I doubt their little 'war' is over.

I'll be careful what I wish for, but it'd be nice to have a plan other than "poke around inside the heart of someone I'm sleeping with and feel like crap".

Nemesis. Hurricane doesn't seem like I'm his type, if I had to guess. So this feels pretty intrusive.

Hurricane doesn't think anybody is his type, from what I've seen. Good kid, but self esteem issues radiate off him like, eh, I don't know, insert a metaphor here.

Yes. I couldn't agree more. Perhaps we should come back here if we've exhausted our other options.
