[Now perched on top of the rock, looking between Miya, Stormfly, Astrid, and then the baby. Giving him a little boop with his paw when the baby demands Attention.]

[Then he focuses on Miya the Stranger, and he has a very familiar bright blue shade to his eyes. Actually very similar to Miya's. considering her own pupils.]

[ Yeah, that's … huh … ]

Sits! On her butt! With her wings casually drooped and her tail still gently swishing, stirring up leaves and twigs in its wake ]

Hi.

[He keeps his wings up. Not fully spread, but there is a definite Wariness still as he studies her from his perch.]

[He does tilt his head curiously as she says hi and he makes a questioning crooning noise.]

[ Tilts her head and chirps back at him, bright and sing-song ]

[He croons back and shakes his head. A paw touches his own mouth and he looks between her and Astrid.]

[ Tilts her head ... ... ]

[ Climbs up to her feet and ambles over to Astrid, winding around her and booping her big ol' fluffy cheek against Astrid's head like a hella oversized cat ]

[Well, not what he was asking, but he does note that curiously.]

I think he was asking about the talking. [Astrid will scritch under her chin though.]

Oh! That'd make sense, wouldn't it? [ wowee, she's sure not used to trying to communicate with other dragons ]

[ leans a little into scritches ]

[ and, to the night fury - ]

I learned human words so I could communicate better with my partner.

It is pretty shocking when you're not used to it. [Scritch scritch. She also knows how to give good scritches, the true danger of Rye's world. So many know How.]

[That is a further headtilt and he makes another crooning noise. Maybe an attempt at partner? Hard to say. There is SOME flow to the sounds.]

[ LEAN ... INTENSIFIES ... but only a tiny bit; most of her focus is still on the other dragon ]

Partner! Yeah. [ Cheeps! ] His name's Kit. He's a human who took me in when I needed help.

[Astrid lessens the scritches into pets. Because she knows not to Distract Too Much.]

[That gets a serious look. There is a questioning croon, looking her over carefully as if for scars.]

[ Haha. Ha. Chuckles, a low rumbling. ]

I'm fine now; I bounce back fast. [ There's no sign of scars anywhere on her body - at all, not even so much as a scratch on her horns ]

[It is hard to tell with FLOOF.]

[He will hop down from the rock and start to approach.]

What? You're still worried?

[An affirmative sound because who can tell with these dragons making friends with humans! Someone needs to look out for you.]

Should let him get a look. Night furies can be pretty protective even of new dragons.

[ Rustles her wings in lieu of a shrug. ]

Well, it's fine, I s'pose.

[He stops down on the ground, looking up at them. Because there isn't a lot of room on the cliff, and he's still studying Astrid intensely.]

Well, he hasn't tried to chase me off. You're comforting already.

Hrmm.

[ to the dragon: ] You can come closer. It's safe, I promise.

[He is Still Watching. His eyes go to the axe on Astrid's back. He is not afraid, persay, but there is a strong caution.]

You first. One at a time is usually better. [She pats her neck.] I'm fine up here.

Hrm.

[ considering rumbly ... but then, with another ruffle of her wings, she hops down to meet him. ]

[He steps close as she hops down and he circles her, sniffing at her and trying to see through the feathers without doing more then snuffling at her.]

[ the floof is so dense and plush that it'll quickly prove impossible ]

[ also: 'grats on the scent of toasty warm s'mores and coffee ]

You're really not gonna find anything. I heal fast, and all of that nonsense was a while back.

[WHAT IS THIS SCENT?]

[Chocolate is familiar, BUT WHAT IS THE REST. Now he's just straight up smelling her trying to figure out this weird scent????]

Never smelled a dragon like me before, huh?

[ the scent is strongest around her cheeks, neck, tail, and around her paws, and she p...atiently... allows the sniffsploration ]

[Well, sniffsploraation lets him get a good look at her and she is Fine, so that is good.]

[He sits back and looks at her curiously.]

[Headtilt.]

[He sits back further, completely on his back legs and front hovering in the air. And he sits out his Left back leg.]

[Which might be a sign for Hiccup.]
