Rules

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
✣ All characters are reduced (or lifted up to) ordinary, healthy humans. This means that animal ears become human ears and all unit abilities as well as above-human strength, etc. are removed. However, characters who are ordinarily ill are now perfectly healthy. For characters with disabilities, it's the player's choice how this manifests, but generally speaking your character is able to get around comfortably with basically zero pain or physical discomfort.

✣ Characters have their phones! However, the only thing they can do is display a game.

✣ Characters are able to meet and interact with each other if they are in the same area, although their hangman screen is blocked by mosaics if they try to show each other the results. Any attempts to describe locations of correct or incorrect letters or other events involved with obtaining them will be censored by black boxes, a censorship beep, etc. for all parties within range who have not already obtained it as well.

Once a character leaves their starting room, their phone chimes. The screen seems to be locked to the below with no ability to make alterations or inputs:

How to play:
✏ Collect the letters to find the password to unlock the ultimate clue!
✏ Letters will be automatically added when you find them!
✏ Collect five incorrect letters, and you lose.
✏ Certain “events” may be skipped. Instead, everything will be handled for you - isn’t that convenient?

Lupine's House

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lupine wakes up in a plain, yet sturdy bed. At a first glance, the room seems to be rather small, but no less cozy. A wardrobe stands against a wall containing an assortment of modern clothes in his size, and a sheathed katana is within arm’s reach of his bed. There are wooden picture frames portraying Lupine and the various members of LiliS - everyone in those photos wears regular modern clothing, and none are of occasions he could possibly recall. All in all, it’s a comfortable, no-frills kind of room.

Exploring his house - yes, house - will make it clear that his room is on the second floor, with a (working) master bathroom attached. Down the hall is a training room complete with a worn and battered training dummy, with a variety of weapons hanging from the walls in case he feels like trying something different. Should he go down the stairs to the first floor, he’ll find a comfortable living room with leather furniture gone soft from use, a dining room, and a large kitchen with its own island. Much like his room, photos of various LiliS and himself can be found framed around the whole of the house. But...

Actually, on closer examination, the make of the whole house seems to be cheap and shoddy in some way. Wood is actually plastic, and on the first floor many of the cabinets and the fridge itself in the kitchen are sealed shut. The clothes are cheaply made fast fashion that wouldn’t hold up through more than a few washes, and the photos seem to be poorly printed, as though resized from the wrong resolution. The katana by his bedside has a cheap plastic blade, and all of the weapons in the training room are welded to the walls, entirely for show.

Should he exit the house, he’ll find that the nameplate says “Lupine”. He may spend as much or as little time as he likes in his house, but nothing seems to happen. However, there
is a street he can follow elsewhere.]

Alexander's House

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Alexander wakes up in a bed with a crimson comforter. At first glance, the room seems to be furnished with sleek and polished mahogany, including an impressive wardrobe that contains modern clothing suitable for his wear. There are standing frames portraying himself and the various BARiTONES members old and new, as well as others like Five, D.va, Persephone, and Izanagi. Everyone in those photos wears regular modern clothing, and none are of occasions he could possibly recall. Most intriguingly, what would be a normal window in any other house seems to be something more akin to a portal - looking outside the window right next to his bed gives a view of what appears to be Amaurot, the people going about their days peacefully and happily. Although if he tries to examine it any more closely, he’ll find that it’s actually no more than a screen behind the glass of the window, cleverly placed to make it seem as though it really were a window to another world.

Exploring his house - yes, house - will make it clear that his room is on the second floor, with a (working) master bathroom attached. Down the hall, a door opens up to a grand library full of mahogany shelves and thick, well-worn tomes. Should he go down the stairs to the first floor, he’ll find a comfortable lounge of a living room complete with a rack of fine wines, a dining room, and a large kitchen with its own island. Much like his room, photos of various BARiTONES and his other friends can be found framed around the whole of the house.

Most of the books in the library are completely blank, good for nothing more than acting as a doorstopper or, if one were desperate, a blunt weapon. Naturally, all those wine bottles only contain cheap grape juice.

Should he exit the house, he’ll find that the nameplate says “Emet-Selch”. He may spend as much or as little time as he likes in his house, but nothing seems to happen. However, there
is a street he can follow elsewhere.]

Persephone's House

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Persephone wakes up in a futon patterned with wisteria flowers. Though clearly modernized for comfort, it still has many traditional qualities - a large bureau with a mirror set atop it is the most eye-catching element, and indeed inside the drawers are a number of neatly folded outfits, from traditional kimono to frilly dresses and petticoats. Glittering hairpieces are set neatly in front of the mirror for the final touches, many of them resembling flowers and other plant life, made with gold or silvery metals with gemstones set among the branches to create blossoms. There are framed photos that display Persephone and the various members of sensitIV, old and new, as well as Amaranth, all wearing modern clothing in settings and scenery he couldn’t possibly recall.

Sliding open the door and stepping into the hallway, he will find he is on the second floor of an entire house to himself. There’s a lavish bathroom with all kinds of soaps and scrubs and hair care products, and down the hall is a door that leads out to a balcony full of flowers, including all of the plants and blossoms representing the various members of sensitIV. The necessary tools for maintaining the garden can all be found in a small shed off to the side.

Down the stairs, he’ll find a living room similarly rife with plant life, as well as a large kotatsu. There is a dining room and kitchen as well, though neither seems like they’ve seen much use. Photos fill up these places as well, the subjects of each photo smiling cheerfully for the camera.

However... should he look closely, the make of the whole house seems to be cheap and shoddy in some way. Even the plants are nothing more than silk replicas, the containers of beauty products empty, and the metal and stone making up the hairpieces no more than cheap tin and rhinestone replicas.

Should he exit the house, he’ll find that the nameplate says “Persephone”. He may spend as much or as little time as he likes in his house, but nothing seems to happen. However, there
is a street he can follow elsewhere.]

Venti's House

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Venti wakes up in a soft, cozy bed. At a first glance, the room seems to really emphasize the bed in particular - not only is it large, but full of pillows and blankets that can be added or removed for maximum comfort, all surrounded by a elegant mesh that gives the impression of a princess bed along with providing just enough opacity to give him some privacy. A pristine white dresser holds neatly folded modern clothes, all in his size. There are swirling glass framed photos portraying Venti and the various members of sensitIV to be found around the room, including a few with Zhongli. Everyone in those photos wears regular modern clothing, and none are of occasions he could possibly recall.

Exploring his house - yes, house - will make it clear that his room is on the second floor, with a (working) master bathroom attached. Down the hall is a music room full of all kinds of instruments lining the walls, a grand piano taking the center and a full harp close by. Strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion - it’s all there, gleaming and polished with care. Should he go down the stairs to the first floor, he’ll find a cozy living room with a plush couch perfect for a nap, beanbag chairs, and plenty of throw pillows, as well as a dining room, and a large kitchen with its own island and a large rack of fine wines. Much like his room, photos of various sensitIV members and himself as well as others such as Zhongli and Sakura can be found framed around the whole of the house.

Even the poor instruments can only produce sounds worthy of a child’s toy, and all those wine bottles only contain cheap grape juice.

Should he exit the house, he’ll find that the nameplate says “Venti”. He may spend as much or as little time as he likes in his house, but nothing seems to happen. However, there

Okitsu's House

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Okitsu wakes up in a simple, cozy bed. At a first glance, the room seems to be basic, but well-lived in - there’s a few clothes that didn’t quite make it into the hamper, as well as an assortment of hobby items, like half-painted figures, beginner level music sheets, and a few medical textbooks. There are standing picture frames portraying Okitsu and the various members of sensitIV, as well as Skylark. Everyone in those photos wears regular modern clothing, and none are of occasions he could possibly recall.

Exploring his house - yes, house - will make it clear that his room is on the second floor, with a (working) master bathroom attached. Down the hall is a hobby room with a keyboard and seat against a wall and various other interesting but as of yet unfinished projects - some kind of woodworking setup, a sewing pattern with fabric already cut out - a lot of things that seem like they could be easily turned to gifts for others, really. Should he go down the stairs to the first floor, he’ll find a living room full of disparate furniture, turned together in a comfortable circle near a TV for group watching and chatter, a dining room, and a large kitchen with its own island. Much like his room, photos of various sensitIV members and himself, as well as others such as Skylark can be found framed around the whole of the house.

All the tools that would have been used for his hobbies are either glued to surfaces or fake entirely, consisting only of containers with pictures of the supposed contents glued to the inside in place of any actual needles or pins. Even the instruments are little more than toys, and produce weak, tinny sounds when played.

Should he exit the house, he’ll find that the nameplate says “Okitsu”. He may spend as much or as little time as he likes in his house, but nothing seems to happen. However, there
is a street he can follow elsewhere.]

Lahabrea's House

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Lahabrea wakes up in a bed with a crimson comforter. At first glance, the room seems to be furnished with sleek and polished mahogany, including an impressive wardrobe that contains modern clothing suitable for his wear. There are standing frames portraying himself and the various BARiTONES members old and new, as well as Vergil.

Down the hall, a door opens up to a laboratory with all kinds of chemicals and tubes and beakers, as well as assorted machinery (his very own centrifuge!). Should he go down the stairs to the first floor, he’ll find a comfortable lounge of a living room complete with a rack of fine wines, a dining room, and a large kitchen with its own island. Much like his room, photos of various BARiTONES can be found framed around the whole of the house.

Even the laboratory’s equipment are little more than toys, the beakers not filled with potent chemicals but rather having been designed with colorful liquids running along the outside of the glass so that when tipped, the liquid “drains” into the opaque rim, hiding it from view. Naturally, all those wine bottles only contain cheap grape juice.

Should he exit the house, he’ll find that the nameplate says “Lahabrea”. He may spend as much or as little time as he likes in his house, but nothing seems to happen. However, there
is a street he can follow elsewhere, and if he checks on his person he'll find a wallet with a basic ID including his photo and name, as well as a fair amount of cash in yen.]

Neighborhood

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Once your character leaves their house, they find themselves in a quaint neighborhood. There are a number of houses ringing a circular road, and a single house in the center.

They can travel to the central house or head down the street to the shopping district. Personal houses lock immediately after the owner exits, but people may be let in by the owner - the knob will only unlock when the owner attempts to open the door.

You may self-navigate, but if you would like a chance to run into other player characters, feel free to comment to this top level.

Central House

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Approaching the center house, the exterior is a sleek, modern looking affair with white walls and black roofing. The nameplate reads “Hizumi”. Should characters step inside, they’ll find themselves on the first floor. The door immediately to the right upon entry has a sign engraved with “Guest Bedroom” hanging from the front, and appears to be locked from the inside. Otherwise, the first floor features a living room with a large flatscreen TV, couches and armchairs enough to accommodate plenty of guests, a connected dining room with a long table seating six, and a kitchen with an island and a stainless steel refrigerator and top of the line appliances. There’s a door exiting from the kitchen that seems to go to the back somewhere, but the frosted glass makes it impossible to tell what’s behind it, and the door is locked fast.

On the second floor, characters can find a locked door that seems to lead to one half of the floor and an open door that leads to no other than the master bedroom. No matter the hour, the door to the master bedroom is open and unlocked.

Talk to Hizumi

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[Upon opening the door, they’ll find that the room is dark, but most of it can still be made out - plush white carpets, sleek, modern furniture made of black wood with red velvet accents. There’s a tell-tale lump in the king-sized bed with some fluffy mint green hair sticking out. It seems like someone’s fast asleep.]

Talk to Hizumi - Afternoon

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[It seems the owner of the house has finally awoken. He can be found milling around his house in modern clothing, though he still looks like he’s in the process of waking up. Still, it doesn’t stop him from glancing over.]

Ah- hey. Did you let yourself in?

Guest Room

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[Your character wakes up in a room that smells strongly of disinfectant, having apparently fallen asleep on a hospital cot. A curtain grants them some privacy from the rest of the room, but upon drawing it to the side, they’ll find the room consists only of row after row of cots crammed into the room, each able to be curtained off but only just, allowing for narrow walkways between each bed. No other bed appears to be occupied - any other player character currently occupying this room is in their own version of it.]

Shopping District

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[No matter the time of day, the shopping district is bustling with people! ...Or at least, approximations of people. The masses all pass your character by, seemingly literally faceless, and if they try to get the attention of the people, they’ll find that the figures simply turn and head out of the way, always granting your character a wide enough berth to walk without otherwise disrupting the flow of people.

There are a few areas of interest here that characters may explore. You may self-navigate, but if you would like a chance to run into other player characters, feel free to comment to this top level.

Shopping District Streets

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[The streets seem ordinary enough. There’s smaller boutiques with more alternative fashion, for characters to peruse as they wish, unless they want to continue down the streets.]

Mall

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[The mall is a fairly typical one; there’s an elevator leading to other floors, along with a number of shops full of mannequins displaying all kinds of fashions, far beyond the aesthetics offered in Imeeji. Streetwear, preppy, boho, and even your cheap basics and more - all can be found in the various stores and boutiques, the shadowy apparitions of a crowd filtering in and out of stores with the leisurely pace one would expect of people enjoying a day off. Sure, there’s an abandoned storefront among the rest, empty of any merchandise with only leftover mannequins remaining, but the rest of the mall seems healthy enough.]

Arcade

[personal profile] bondsofsuffering 2021-12-29 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[The arcade is loud and hazy with lights, a multitude of different games flashing different colors as they display the entertainment your character could be enjoying at the price of a play. They’re all sectioned off by genre: there’s a casino area with slots, pachinko, and roulettes, as well as areas for more general games like rhythm, shooters, racing, fighting, and puzzle games. Near the racing games in particular is a doorway lined with colorful lights that seems to be its own attraction, and along another wall entirely seems to be a laser tag arena.]
