Nemesis and Hurricane's Ideal World: Session 3

[The sky above is a deep, unnatural crimson, filled with roiling clouds and creatures that are a sickly oil-slick black. They writhe and wriggle like something out of a Lovecraftian nightmare; they have entirely too many eyes, and entirely too many wings, and when they open their mouths, they have entirely too many teeth]

[Below them, the city of Tokyo is half-shattered; above the rooftops, mechanized suits the size of people hover in the air, darting in out of the chaos, laser blasts and explosions and wickedly sharp blades fighting tirelessly against the endless onslaught]

[Until finally, the last creature falls]

[All at once, civilians flood the streets of the city; the lights come on in all the buildings, which somehow have become whole again, safe and unharmed. A cheer goes up from the crowd. Overhead, a stunning fireworks display paints the night with light and color]

[And they all lived happily ever after]

[The end]

[No mind whammy, just straight up child abuse. :D]

[Probably. That allegedly means there might be magical, but so far, its just toxic home life.]

[So strange how much less important he feels like when its not also mixed in with fear and self worth issues. Not that he Isn't Important, but the madness inducing levels are gone.]

Golden Child: Oh. Well.

Golden Child: I like learning more about magic. I like learning new things, new theories, new ways of doing things. And I'm really good at it! I think I could be a good researcher. Its kind of a shame my uncle has so few people he trusts, so I have to be the Golden Guard and protect him, enforce things, and lead his coven. I like when I can do a good job, sure, but I'm not really interested in the job itself. If uncle didn't need me, I wouldn't really choose it.
Golden Child: But magic is fascinating! There's the stuff everyone knows, sure, but there's so much more to it then that! Between what we naturally generate and what the Isles themselves generate, I really think most anything can be done with enough dedication and a creative mind!
Golden Child: The thing most important after my uncle would be that. I want to be able to figure out the things magic can do, the ways that it can help the world we haven't already found.

[ oh no. oh no he's baby. ]

Demeter: That sounds like something very precious indeed. Were you a youth in my own world, the Heptagram's greatest sorcerers would surely count themselves truly favored by fate to you as their student.

Demeter: Here is my suggestion to you: That room you visited contained much more than that young woman. Indeed, it must have been absolutely filled with information, and with relics to be studied.
When you consider it that way, what other things from that room strike you as important?

[ The goal here is to give him some kind of advantage on a WIS check to overcome the unnatural mental influence, and/or to straight-up get him to stop thinking about "girl pretty" and instead focus on an INT check for the room.

15 result on her own WIS check, but the charisma check is a botch so ball's in Rufous's court on that front. ]

[He's very baby.]

Golden Child: Oh, well, there was a lot of stuff

[He roll 23 on an INT check on what's important about the room.]

[He remembers it was full of things that seemed to relate to the war--the victory that kicked all this off--and things that seemed to be more personal--the fanmail, the medals, the letters from names that weren't all that familiar to him but possibly would be to another Avante]

[Additionally, with a 23 he is able to relate everything he saw with accuracy and can just assume he did so]

[She can't really uncharm him by phone--in person might have a chance--but with a 15 WIS she knows that being able to describe what he saw shouldn't be affected by a pretty girl (unless he just went full Brock and didn't pay attention to anything else)]

[He accurately all the things he saw in this room in very accurate terms because he's great at taking in information quickly.]

[He'll even share what she threw into the fire, though not really their talk.]

[ Hm. Hmm hmm hmm.
Hmmmmmm.... WAIT. ]

Demeter: That key you saw in the room! I think I know what it is for! πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ˜±πŸ˜±πŸ˜± βœ¨πŸ—πŸͺΆβœ¨

[ the terrible truth: Amaranth uses emoji like every other 50-something-year-old mom. ]

Demeter: Please, could you go as quickly as you can to retrieve it from the trophy room? I believe it is a reminder of something very important.

[ a pause. how to work around the unnatural mental influence... ]

Demeter: Since it is important to Hurricane and Nemesis, I am sure they will be very happy to have it at their party.

Golden Child: Is it? Sure. I'm trying to get them to see the pretty girl too.
Golden Child: She wanted this to be a good party, so I think she'll come if Nemesis asks. I think they're related? They look alike.
Golden Child: Also figure out what is making Hurricane's mom static out.

[Maybe don't mind whammy the boy with the social etiquette of a kumquat to make the party good, creepy sis.]
