[The sky above is a deep, unnatural crimson, filled with roiling clouds and creatures that are a sickly oil-slick black. They writhe and wriggle like something out of a Lovecraftian nightmare; they have entirely too many eyes, and entirely too many wings, and when they open their mouths, they have entirely too many teeth]

[Below them, the city of Tokyo is half-shattered; above the rooftops, mechanized suits the size of people hover in the air, darting in out of the chaos, laser blasts and explosions and wickedly sharp blades fighting tirelessly against the endless onslaught]

[Until finally, the last creature falls]

[All at once, civilians flood the streets of the city; the lights come on in all the buildings, which somehow have become whole again, safe and unharmed. A cheer goes up from the crowd. Overhead, a stunning fireworks display paints the night with light and color]

[And they all lived happily ever after]

[The end]

There ain't nobody like that. You musta been mistaken. Maybe you just met Hurricane's old lady. She's here, for some reason, and at least one guy thought she looked okay.

Oh no, she's hidden by static, and I'm gonna try to figure that out. It might be the illusion. The illusion hid the pretty girl too.

Come on, I can bring you to her, I'm sure she wants to come to the party, but she was busy cleaning up the trophy room. She'll come if you ask, I'm sure.

[Sounds bad,]

R-right. You don't gotta worry about that. We're--it's a party, y'know? You should enjoy it. I'll take care of that stuff--after.

Amaranth wanted me to show you something in the room anyway. We can look at the thing, get your...sister? Cousin? And have a great party.

[Sounds real bad,]

Imperfect doppleganger, that's still a valid family member. As long as they're not trying to kill you and take your place. And even that can be dubious.

She is and she wanted you to see the key. Said it was important.

[He is gonna reach for her hand.] So come on. We can see the key and get more guests for this party! Seriously, she's great, I'm sure she'll make the party a million times better.

[From her expression, her sister trying to kill her seems completely believable, and her hand is clammy--she doesn't even think to shake off his grip]

We--we don't need no more guests, 'specially not like that. She's gonna ruin everything...

Of course she wouldn't. She's great. She wanted you to have a good party and everything.

Come on, I'm sure if you just talked, this party would be even better. Come back, all sorted. We could play some music. I even have recordings of the subway sourds. [Leading her! Inside! To see the nice pretty girl!]

[Legit uncomfortable with this but for some reason cannot stop this trainwreck from crashing into the station]

What--what about Hurricane? He-- I can't leave him to handle the party alone.

He's coming with since we gotta get his mom.

[AND NOW HE'S ICLY GOT BOTH.]

[Tooooo the trophy room for what is surely a good time? See if he can find that Key that Amaranth wanted to see since he got to that first before Pretty Girl.]

Why her? She's awful.
