The Last Supper - Hunting Grounds
[ Chosen idols will find themselves abruptly taken, in their unit's room one moment and out in a courtyard the next. An impossibly tall and incredibly dense garden hedge divides the courtyard into sections—moreover, it increasingly gets taller when climbed, preventing its residents from escaping their slice of the courtyard.
A few sparse bushes and trees decorate the area, but there's nothing to keep the hunted away from the hunter.
Everyone will find their unit powers are off. However, Hands and Mouths can feel the power deep within themselves—they can grasp that power and turn into their monster form, should they desire so. Hands will find themselves in a natural disadvantage, however: they're much smaller than their Mouth counterparts, diminutive in size, and moreover, while they acquire whatever claws and teeth their monster form affords them, Mouths are capable of strength beyond that—faster agility and strength at minimum, though they may also have supernatural abilities, such as the ability to breathe fire. ]

Not happening. If there's even a chance I can protect them, I'm going to protect them. I don't care what suped up things they might have done to mouths, I've fought monsters before.
[His guard doesn't lower at all, eyes trained on her.]

[She springs forward, running to close the distance between them. Just as she does, she crushes the--bath bomb?--in her hand, throwing the glittery dust into his face, and uses the distraction to grab for the blade of the knife.]

[He doesn't have Pep powers.]
[But Quick as a Wink is just a lesser form of port magic which is what he was an expert in. But port magic didn't magically let him know his surroundings. Taking in information at a moment's notice, without full sight, was something he had to train into himself over years. Its why he had been able to tell when his teammates used the power on him the first day.]
[He sees her get close, sees the fist clench-]
[His eyes close, and he ducks low, feels the displacement in the air, the small tells of movement, close close close-]
[His hold tightens on the blade, and he pulls it back, behind himself, risk her overextending if she wants it that bad, as his other arm swoops low to grab and sweep up a leg from under her.]

[She continues to stretch forward as he tugs his blade back before elbowing back into his belly, surprisingly quick and--perhaps unsurprisingly--hard as steel.
No Stability means she can't just walk up him, but she's familiar with hand-to-hand. So as she grabs for her leg, she hooks her knee around his arm, attempting to tug him to the ground with her--preferably with her on top]

[Because now there's a fight and a conversation is a difficult thing in a fight.]
[The elbow connects and its hard and it hurts, but he's also not soft where she hits. Witches are naturally hardier then humans and even with that being diminished thanks to hell magic, combined with training, it keeps him from keeling over.]
[He feels his arm getting loops around, feels his feet start to go, and he throws his weight into the pull, to make it a roll across the ground which is]
[Less ideal with the knife that he isn't letting go.]
[Its definitely cutting whatever body parts get close, between his own and hers, but at least its not a full stab.]

Of course, that only makes the sweet smell coming from him go sharper, and she swallows hard, pupils shrinking to pinpricks at her attention drawn--eyes winking open in the shadows under her chin and inside her sleeve--
Enough rolling--she ends up pinning him beneath her--she's got a slight size advantage even before powers come into play--goes for another punch to his jaw before he can figure out where that knife is again. Dark tyrian light flares up the seams of the metal arm, and this time, the fist stings with as much heat as force]

[The punch comes, but pain isn't new, pain to his head isn't new, and there's a dizzying affect from one punch, but there's that feeling, that displacement of air, and there is heat
there is power, there is the smell of seaweed, and corruption-][He jerks his head to the side, eyes snapping open, a wild, determined look even as he tries to focus after the dizzying punch, but he has a Mission, and he refuses to go down until he can't move anymore.]
[And he still has the knife and its all about hitting as many times as possible.]
[The knife goes up and he doesn't care where so much as getting the knife into flesh as much as possible as quickly as he can in succession.]

It doesn't register the second time either, because even as the knife sinks into her side, it's pushed back out as long tendrils of darkness spurt out of the wound--spindly arms and legs and tentacles all bent at the wrong angles for what any human would expect from nature. More and more of the inky blackness pours forth from her, until she's almost unrecognizable--double her size, all red eyes and sharp teeth and black, grasping claws.
She opens one of her mouths and lets out a sound like nails over a blackboard--lets out a clawed swipe from somewhere near what was once a torso to slice clean lines through his throat.]

[Doesn't make him stop or even slow down because it's always hit hit hit until there's a gap to escape or hit some more. Speed is important and he's trying to pull away between the stabs-]
[But for all witches are hardier, they still bleed and they still have veins and arteries.]
[There is a slash to his throat and-]
[Honestly, it's that instinct trained in. To keep hitting, knife still looking for purchase in some kind of flesh until there's not enough blood to keep his body moving, to keep gripping the knife, to try and see through the dizziness. The knife clattering as the darkness takes him.]

But Nemesis is not here.
There is only the creature and its prey; the rumble of its hunger and the sweet scent of the Heart's lifesblood spilling out.
It does not even wait for Rufous to stop attacking before one needle-toothed maw opens to feed, then another--enveloping him until the delicious meal is completely devoured and its hunger is--for now--slaked]
