The Last Supper - Hunting Grounds
[ Chosen idols will find themselves abruptly taken, in their unit's room one moment and out in a courtyard the next. An impossibly tall and incredibly dense garden hedge divides the courtyard into sections—moreover, it increasingly gets taller when climbed, preventing its residents from escaping their slice of the courtyard.
A few sparse bushes and trees decorate the area, but there's nothing to keep the hunted away from the hunter.
Everyone will find their unit powers are off. However, Hands and Mouths can feel the power deep within themselves—they can grasp that power and turn into their monster form, should they desire so. Hands will find themselves in a natural disadvantage, however: they're much smaller than their Mouth counterparts, diminutive in size, and moreover, while they acquire whatever claws and teeth their monster form affords them, Mouths are capable of strength beyond that—faster agility and strength at minimum, though they may also have supernatural abilities, such as the ability to breathe fire. ]

Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
[Snapped at the sky, not in Nemesis's direction... though he doesn't entirely turn away from her either. He bites his lip after that outburst, readjusting his grip on his knife as he tries to choke down his irritation to focus.]
Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
[She looks back at him, ignoring the lack of response from the sky--why in the world would the producers care about them now]
So, you went after me, and then said that you're weak? That's kinda insulting, y'know.

Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
Okay, you got a point there.
Look--I don't get nothing outta killing you. But if you wanna fight, I ain't gonna back down. I mean--you did call me out. 'Less that was just chance?

Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
[She sounds a little rueful, even as her good arm begins to turn dark and a little bulbous, eyes winking open up and over the inky surface. Her voice goes rough, but doesn't seem entirely given to monster time just yet]
...Just gotta give it a shot, then?
Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
[He isn't instantly monstering out either, though his eyes slide down from Nemesis's face to her arm, and... also his breath is starting to fog up in the air? Like it's colder over there, but only over there.]
Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
You guys weren't even on the table, y'know.
[And then another arm sprouts behind her first, and something else vaguely identifiable as a limb, though not of what, all spilling from her shoulder like water through a faucet. Or perhaps like oil, as the surface of old and new skin goes black and shiny, countless eyes winking unnervingly open and shut over the surface. A few teeth appear as well, wickedly sharp and generally attached to a mouth, though not the mouth on her head.
What actually happens, however, is that a beam of light comes from her prosthetic, firing--barely--over his head. Yes she for real has a laser arm, thank Intensity. It of course makes a pew pew sound like in GIJoe]
Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
[Nyx doesn't seem to quite catch her meaning- blame all the alternate interpretations made possible by the context of this game. And, you know, the fact that he's immediately distracted by what happens next.
He's startled by the noise and light into "dodging" downwards, one knee on the ground, though if the shot hadn't been off he probably wouldn't have avoided it quite fast enough.
It seems getting down low like this was definitely not him losing his balance or anything, though, given he doesn't try to straighten up. Instead he leans forward, as if to get down on all fours- and he does, except suddenly he's a four-legged monster. And now he's elsewhere, apparently jolted into action enough to get moving, just darting around a distance away from Nemesis to avoid further ???whatever that was???.]
Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
Nyx is briefly concerned about those ??????beams?????? hitting someone else elsewhere in the garden, but, well, obviously he has more pressing concerns to drive that out of his mind. When the second shot does its thing away from him, he stops wasting energy skittering around so much to linger a little ways off from Nemesis, waiting to see what she does next.
...The ground where he's run around is now kind of slippery and not exactly being subtle about the fact that it's been iced, but don't mind that.]
Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
[Kind of? She's still--barely--half-monster, though her charge towards him is more of a shamble, what with one side of her mostly eldritch horror bits. It's not quite enough for a full-on comedy ice slide, but it is enough to halt her admittedly slow chase]
Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
He doesn't try to scamper away entirely again, apparently ready to buckle down and get this scrap actually going judging by the stance he takes as she approaches. Soon, Melee. There's a lull when she stops, but it probably won't last long...]
Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
There's something about a physical challenge that is hard (for Nemesis at least) to resist. Two people meeting across the battlefield, getting it on just based on their wits and their strength (and in this case, their magical monster powers). So if Nyx is finally ready to battle, Nemesis is ready to give him one. With a grin, she gives another nails on blackboard laugh and charges forward.
...Small issue, the ice is still there on the ground between them, and her monster bits aren't good for that type of grip.
So as she careens forward, it's a little less a charge and a little more a flailing skid, but hey, here we are,]
Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
That's not to say that his internal turmoil is what makes him slip a bit when he tries to pounce, that's entirely the fact that he stood there too long and the ice got thicker beneath him than he thought it was. Oops!
There, uh. There is definitely going to be a collision of wits and strength on this battlefield! Specifically their heads are going to go... head to head... very literally... and there's lots of "strength" behind it because they're both monsters right now, and...
...
...
...welp!]
Re: R1 MOUTH vs MOUTH
[Rather, *KLONK*]
[...Perhaps it is time for a nap!]
