[ Once the decisions have been made, everyone is ushered—though those gentle tugs—out their respective mud rooms into the courtyard. An impossibly tall and incredibly dense garden hedge divides one half of the courtyard away—moreover, it increasingly gets taller when climbed, preventing its residents from escaping their slice of the courtyard. From beyond, idols can hear the distant sounds of something rumbling—perhaps it's the ground shaking. . .

Her name was grayed out on the roster. The icy pragmatic part of his brain, which has all the rest of it in a vice grip right now, sees her as a zero. No points to be gained for his unit by killing her.
But Lupine is still in there, and he made her a promise. A promise he can tell, just from looking at her, has come due.
He pads up to her, and transformed he's all preternatural grace — and preternatural speed and strength. In pretty much every way, this is going to be easier than it should have been. ]
