There's alcohol available, but everything else is locked behind the wall-cabinet. . . the recipe book is also available to peruse at one's leisure.

Anyone trying one will see Doctor - this time, not with wings or horns - in a kitchen. He's preparing manjuu, it looks like, though with a dark and sorrowful expression that doesn't suit the delicious food.

After a bit, he searches the shelves. Behind several other ingredients, deliberately placed out of sight, he pulls out an unlabeled bag of white powder. Doctor slips on a pair of latex gloves, and hesitates for a long moment, before adding the powder to the manjuu. He's extremely careful not to spill any or get any on himself.]





...Arsenic. That was arsenic.

There is no right or wrong answer to that question. I only meant that you had a look of someone who was not making such a decision lightly.

I do not see you as a person who makes decisions lightly, and also takes it upon themselves to personally see a difficult task to completion if it would spare others. In the brief flash of memory, I see nothing that contradicts that.

So I can only offer condolences that you were put in a position where that was what you determined to be the best choice.

...There are a few of a young boy who I believe I cared for. A quiet boy named Russell.

What do you remember about him?

He spoke very little, and 'twas difficult to read his face. He and I... were both killers, I suppose, knowing what I know now.

But... I think. When I told him that I wouldn't go to the police about him, and that he could return to my shop whenever he liked. He was surprised, then. As if that was more kindness than he had been shown before.
