sensitIV - SATURDAY NOON PST

[ The bar is unit-colored with light unit paraphernalia, although it's all just for show. Fortunately, comfort isn't part of the unit aesthetic this time—all seats are cushioned, whether the booth seats or the bar stools, comfy and lush. Idols can sit anywhere they like, it seems.

There's alcohol available, but everything else is locked behind the wall-cabinet. . . the recipe book is also available to peruse at one's leisure.

Ah—the door opens, and a fuzzy sort of shade steps in. It looks like idols will be serving the Damned, today. . . ? ]

It depends on if your priority is to win the game or if your priority is to do as minimal harm as possible.

When you put it that way, it sounds worse...

...just this once, I suppose it's fine, though.

Even if it doesn't look the part, bartending is quite a serious job with many complex moral dilemmas . . . for example, what if this person needs the alcohol to be able to calm their nerves when handling children?

Or, say someone comes in looking particularly miserable—they drink and they drink and drink some more. At what point is it our duty as compassionate human beings to stop them from drinking? But then, just what makes us capable of making such decisions and deciding such borders?

...mm, should one really be drinking while dealing with children, though? But—well, a responsible person should definitely cut someone off, if they're in excess. After all—

...well, I'd say what makes us capable of making such decisions is our empathy, but also that we have distance from the situation.

That's right. We can see the bigger picture from this distance, and the path is much clearer here.

Even so, we have our own decisions to make—in the real world, these customers are the very same that allow the bartender to pay for their food and shelter and comforts. Of course, then, there's ample reason to simply accept the customer's wishes without thought or scrutiny. . .

In that regard, we are fortunate this is simply a "game".

That's true. With the stakes here... we don't have to be so precisely concerned, I guess.

So, let's just treat it as a game, mm?

And therefore, have a little fun with it.
