HEARTFORGE - sensitIV (Session 4)

You are in the heart of a massive forge. In front of you are tools, and your objective is clear - to use them to channel the strength of your heart and create.

What are you creating? Who can say. Only you - and only you'll know if - and when, it's good enough. The stories before you are not yours right now, but you'll make them yours soon enough.

And you will survive.

It's a quiet memory; you sit at the edge of the castletown's wall facing the ocean, watching the tide come and go. Another man is with you; he has an ink brush and paper, making broad strokes of waves on his canvas.

They chat for some time, idly; you're meant to be training soon but right now you have a few moments to spare and enjoy the peace. The other man—Yamada-sensei—confesses he wishes the battle be over already, that they be allowed to live their lives in peace. You wholeheartedly agree.

"What d'ye love most in the world?"

You stop, stunned by the question—you don't know how to answer such an important thing. Isn't there so much to love on this earth? After some time, you speak—you love humans best. Just as Jesus did, he loves everyone on this earth.

Yamada shakes his head. Of course the Boy of Miracles would give an answer like that.

You're a little embarrassed—perhaps your answer isn't satisfying?—so you ask your teacher what he loves most in the world. Yamada explains, then—

Art is his passion. He cherishes art more than he cherishes his own life; he would die before he would stop painting. He notes that someday, he wants to return to his home in the mountains—for he still has many works left unfinished, and he still has many more works to produce. He's grateful for this struggle they must endure, though—he can feel the creativity and inspiration flowing through his veins, and through this hardship he can surely produce more evocative works.

You laugh, for none of this is surprising to you—of course, Yamada-sensei has an artist's heart—and you wish him well. If God wills it, by the end of this battle, Yamada-sensei will be able to return to doing what he loves.

You truly hope that will be the case.

Hm? . . . I suppose it's rather obvious on my part, isn't it?
