[ The door is closed. It's not locked, or at least the handle turns just fine, but there's something behind the door that's preventing it from opening. ]

she's going to set the lanterns down and try and open the door hard enough to hit it against whatever's behind it, to see if she can get a sense from the sound what material it's made out of. ]

[ It doesn't smell any more pleasant when you approach it. The liquid is murky, thick—it's hard to tell how deep or shallow the fountain runs. ]

time to apply pressure to the wound and go squint at the wall to see if there's any seam since theoretically there must be stuff behind the wall for blood to be coming out of it. ]
