[ There are indeed A Lot of People here suddenly. Although I don't think any of them are making any hostile moves toward him, a lot of them have weapons too so. probably not going to win much confidence there. ]

[ there's not really attacking going on but he is actually just in a glare deathmatch with maki ]

[ VERY BRIEFLY PAUSES IN HIS GLARING TO GLARE AT HIRYUU, ASSESS, AND GO BACK TO GLARING AT MAKI ]

[Maki on the other hand is definitely unfriendly and defensive. glaring]

[ that's fine we can glare at each other. unsettled, but his eyes narrow, gaze sharp and unyielding ]

[Maki's expression remains impassive. She is visibly unarmed, but that doesn't appear to stop her from looking daggers at him.]

[ he's visibly armed with a lance, gaze intense as he picks up the tip that was planted into a crevice in the rocks ]

[rollplayinghouse]

[She does not flinch, though her eyes dart to track the tip of the lance.]

[hitorikiri]

[ matcha holds the lance's tip low to the ground, grip poised like he's ready to use it though he doesn't move - instead, he watches her ]

[rollplayinghouse]

[She doesn't break eye contact, but takes a single step towards him.]

[hitorikiri]

[ holding his ground - no, advancing forward too, just one step ]

[rollplayinghouse]

[Her hand lifts to move towards her waist, just slightly.]

[ tightening the lance's grip

also, very briefly breaking eye contact to glare at hiryuu and then go back to glaring at maki since that happens at some point. hiryuu is hereyuu. ]

[Her hand moves a little further, to close on something inside her kimono.

And she also glances briefly at Hiryuu, to judge her position.]

[ narrowing his eyes, watching the hand movement - his knees bend, just the slightest, ready to spring ]

[ - but there's a pause, energy shifting in the air as he takes note again of hiryuu. reassesses.

then he moves, abrupt - like maki's not a priority anymore - he steps to hiryuu now, glare intense and jaw clenched, still brandishing his lance. there's a speed to his movement, a hastiness -

if she doesn't move soon he's going to grab her with his free hand. ]
