... I think there's been a gross misunderstanding. I'm not angry with you, Loki; my choice wasn't an act of revenge born out of hatred. Even though you and yours have hurt so many people that are close to me so many times... I know you're not bad people. You want to protect your own, you've all proven that unquestionably, and I can't fault you all for that. I want to protect my own, too--I sent the genie because I was afraid if you all had targeted her once already, you might again, since she was alone.

But it's also because I understand it, I couldn't choose you to target. Even if it was going to be something nonviolent, without pain.... It's selfish of me, but I didn't want to lift my hand against you specifically, because I care about you.
