[ The room's stench is the first thing you notice upon waking up: it's an unpleasant mix of incense, smoke, and metal. Although the room is poorly lit, the light from the standing torches show that the room is quite big…and quite crowded.

Not with living people, of course. You find yourselves surrounded by corpses, mutilated beyond recognition. Vaguely humanoid shapes and limbs indicate these used to be humans, probably…?

The metal smell is more easily identifiable as blood, now—though even if you could not make the connection, the floor is sticky with pools and rivers of red, so it's quite easy to tell that these—people?—met their end right here. In the dim light, it seems like the blood flows more easily than blood rightfully ought to.

Yet, you won't find even a drop of blood on yourself, or even near your body. In fact, the carnage is absent on both your clothes as well as the ground immediately surrounding you, which is just as well because the blood would have otherwise obfuscated the white-chalked summoning circle that surrounds the idols.

You're situated in the center of the room. You can hear running and dripping water in the distance. A button sits on a pedestal nearby - it reads “RESET”.
Against the north is what looks like a map - of what, you can’t tell from where you are.
To the east you can see…water? Blood? pooling at the base of the wall.
Against the south is a table, with an oil lantern and various other objects sitting on it.
Against the west wall is a closed wooden door. ]

It seems your arrival was not entirely without injury, however: the second they stand up, there's a sudden PFT noise from one of the walls and Le Roi Soleil finds themself struck in the neck by a blowdart.

The dart doesn't go deep enough to cause any real harm, but the wound does feel sort of numbing...for now.

As time progresses, the idol will begin to exhibit the following symptoms:
Weakness/numbing of limbs
Fever/chills
Dizziness/mind fog
Difficulty moving or staying awake, sluggishness

and ... there's so many of them. so many, it's absolutely overwhelming his senses. he stumbles back -- almost tripping over them, covering his mouth, looking like he's about to be sick.

honestly the dart almost doesn't phase him compared to the rest of this but he does feel the sharp pinch as it enters his skin. he's quick to reach up and tug it out but that really does just add to panicked he is about all of this ]

[ pentium doesn't seem bothered in the slightest. this isn't even a lot of dead bodies. he's about to open his mouth to say they should start when he notices leona freaking the fuck out. ] ... [ oh. ]

Soleil... shut your eyes. And take slow deep breaths. Give me a minute to clean this place up. [ he's going to eat all the bodies. all of them. every. last. one. hopefully there wasn't evidence there they needed to collect, but he imagines that's what the 'reset' button is for. ]

[ as soon as he's finished he ambles over to him, feeling full and lethargic. perhaps that... wasn't the best idea. ] Are you alright?

He wheels around as soon as the dart hits ]

[ the bodies have been cleaned up,
and by cleaned up i mean the horse ate them all. ]

[ now there's definitely no reason for anybody to freak. ]

[ since he is much full,
many tired,
and become babysit... ]

[ he decides to check out the door on the west wall first. ]

[ IT'S A LOT OF DEAD BODIES TO HIM!!!!!!!!

he is shutting his eyes and per Gil's suggstion is also taking a seat. trying to even his breathing. shoves his face into his hands.

he can hear what Pentium is doing but honestly he appreciates it. ]

What ... what is all this?

[ SOLEIL IS SITTING AND ALSO COVERING HIS EYES UNTIL PENTIUM VACUUMS UP THE BODIES ]

[ ON THE CONTRARY, MY DEAR HORSE ]

W-W-What the hell are you doing?!?!

[ The door is a normal wooden door, with a lock-shaped glyph emblazoned on it. ]

It must be a game. [ he takes a seat in front of him and sets a claw on his head. ] Do not stray too far from me, alright, ...and I'll do my best to keep you safe. [ he leans in to sniff at his neck, where the dart likely hit. ] We are being tested...

...ah, Interesting. I guess we're going to need to get something to socket into this. [ knocks on the door. ] I'm guessing this is our escape route.

[ time to head south to check out the lantern and table. ]

[ On the table is an oil lamp. There is also a book, some rags, and a crowbar. ]

[ shoves his face into gil's and grins. ] But the only alive ones in the room and you and Soleil. Are you saying I should eat you</b? [ he's just fucking with him, but gil totally set him up. ]

Just -- just feels a lil numb. I'm fine.

[ he says, absolutely not fine

but he doesn't seem PHYSICALLY affected. for now. ]

Along with the water, some sort of white cloudy gas begins to seep into the room. It comes quickly enough that it's hard to avoid it, breathing it in once caught is almost unavoidable. The gas burns your lungs and clouds your vision, and surely it would kill anyone caught in the cloud for too long, but it quickly dissolves into the water pooling around you and no more is released:

PENTIUM and anyone who does not get out of the way of the gas cloud suffers the following:

- Coughing fits
- Burning in lungs/chest
- Dizziness
- Exposed skin becomes irritated

Hey! I need some hands over here. [ he turns his head to call out. ] I'd like one of you noodles to wield this crowbar and the other to carry this lamp.

[ he's taking the tags and grabbing the book, which he promptly pops open to read. ]

[ ... Soleil nods, after a moment, and uncovers his eyes. ]

Were those -- real? Did they taste real to you?

[ OW MY FOUR EYES. ]

[ he's going to headbutt the source out of frustration and anger... and then plant his ass on the floor to hack up a lung. ]

[ not literally. ]

I'm not a noodle.

[ Soleil says!! he'll be taking the crowbar

i guess before the gas hits ]

[ pentium can tank a face full of gas. it's fine. ] ...thank you. It will do no good in my hands.
