BARiTONES
[ For as long as the game is running, idols will only be able to access the rules on their phones. They may not text/call, nor may they take pictures.
Unit abilities are off. Items are off. Each idol can hold up to 3 items at a time maximum. ]

1 - BASEMENT
Not with living people, of course. You find yourselves surrounded by corpses, mutilated beyond recognition. Vaguely humanoid shapes and limbs indicate these used to be humans, probably…?
The metal smell is more easily identifiable as blood, now—though even if you could not make the connection, the floor is sticky with pools and rivers of red, so it's quite easy to tell that these—people?—met their end right here. In the dim light, it seems like the blood flows more easily than blood rightfully ought to.
Yet, you won't find even a drop of blood on yourself, or even near your body. In fact, the carnage is absent on both your clothes as well as the ground immediately surrounding you, which is just as well because the blood would have otherwise obfuscated the white-chalked summoning circle that surrounds the idols.
You're situated in the center of the room. You can hear running and dripping water in the distance. A button sits on a pedestal nearby - it reads “RESET”.
Against the north is what looks like a map - of what, you can’t tell from where you are.
To the east you can see…water? Blood? pooling at the base of the wall.
Against the south is a table, with an oil lantern and various other objects sitting on it.
Against the west wall is a closed wooden door. ]
STARTING EVENT
The dart doesn't go deep enough to cause any real harm, but the wound does feel sort of numbing...for now.
As time progresses, the idol will begin to exhibit the following symptoms:
Weakness/numbing of limbs
Fever/chills
Dizziness/mind fog
Difficulty moving or staying awake, sluggishness
Re: STARTING EVENT
and ... there's so many of them. so many, it's absolutely overwhelming his senses. he stumbles back -- almost tripping over them, covering his mouth, looking like he's about to be sick.
honestly the dart almost doesn't phase him compared to the rest of this but he does feel the sharp pinch as it enters his skin. he's quick to reach up and tug it out but that really does just add to panicked he is about all of this ]
Re: STARTING EVENT
Soleil... shut your eyes. And take slow deep breaths. Give me a minute to clean this place up. [ he's going to eat all the bodies. all of them. every. last. one. hopefully there wasn't evidence there they needed to collect, but he imagines that's what the 'reset' button is for. ]
[ as soon as he's finished he ambles over to him, feeling full and lethargic. perhaps that... wasn't the best idea. ] Are you alright?
Re: STARTING EVENT
he is shutting his eyes and per Gil's suggstion is also taking a seat. trying to even his breathing. shoves his face into his hands.
he can hear what Pentium is doing but honestly he appreciates it. ]
What ... what is all this?

Re: 1 - BASEMENT
[ The map seems to be a map of...not the entire building, but at least this room, the hallway past the wooden door, and the room the hallway connects to? It shows the rooms in profile, from the side, so it's not actually particularly helpful.
Notably, though, the hallway seems to connect to the next room in such a way that there's a very significant drop - in other words, the room after the hallway seems inaccessible without falling to one's death.
Also, this room seems a lot bigger on the map than it actually looks. To the east is a ledge that you don't actually see when looking in that direction. Above the ledge is what seems to be some kind of cistern. ]

SOLEIL and all idols who are not alert enough to drop to the floor or move out of the way suffer the following effects:
- Severe burns
- Dizziness
- Feeling of something being wrong/out to get them

Soleil actually has good reflexes but he's not quick enough to drop down in time. Soleil hisses, scrambling to tug those darts out with his free hand. ]

2 - HALLWAY
It’s lined with torches and portraits, the eyes of which all seem to follow you as you walk through the hall. The torches tint the room with a sickly green light, punctuating the mossy brickwork and protruding roots. It seems you must still be underground…?
Oddly, the hall seems to creak and waver slightly as you walk through it, as if it is somehow unsteady.
Against the east wall are five paintings, hung strangely low to the ground.
Against the west wall is a plaque which reads "ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY".
To the north is an open doorway.
To the south is the door you came from, now locked, and a statuette sitting on a small stand. ]
Re: 2 - HALLWAY
Re: 2 - HALLWAY
A label above each one orders them from one to five.
The first painting features two figures, one sitting at a desk and pointing down a hallway to direct the other, who is staring forlornly.
The second painting features one figure standing above another who lies on a bed, body balled up and cringing in pain. They are both crying, and the standing figure dreams of two others that have been lost.
The third painting features a person standing in the middle of a doorway, an arm outstretched and face contorted in fear and panic as they rush into a room.
The fourth painting features an image made up of five glyphs which you cannot comprehend or even clearly see - but you know in your heart what they mean. When you stare for too long, you begin to feel a great sense of loss.
The fifth painting features two people, one slightly smaller than the other, conversing. They're discussing someone else, who is not depicted in the scene but is implied to be just offscreen. ]
