I cannot agree with that. Outside sources are an important building block. Without them, it is unlikely to understand what humanity is.

I'll be honest. I think the answer is both, but that's not a choice. I don't think that one or the other is a suitable start for a robot, a human, a creature, or a whatever. It's like nature vs. nurture. But this is a game, so we have to make a choice, and based on my own experience I've said what I personally prefer.

I agree. I think both *are* important, and just because I'm arguing for one side I don't want you thinking I don't see the importance of the other.
