Amnesplora: Liminal Space

Wherever you are in the house, whatever you may have been doing right in that moment

You hear a chime, like a clock sounding the hour. Has it only been that long? No, it can't have been, it must've been longer ... right? Oh well. You're out of time, and now you're here.

Here is a liminal space. It's like a washed out version of the Entrance Hall, so big and fancy, with its high vaulted ceilings and polished oakwood floors, intricate detailing, and the ornate front door. Everything else is shrouded by fog. You can try to find the other doors, you can try to find the foyer, but ... they're not there? Walk more than a minute into the fog and you'll find yourself right back where you started.

I don't know my name either, but Ada called me Trillium and Viatrix called me Amie. I went through this house of horrors twice but the second time I didn't remember the first time, that would have been convenient.

Anyway, either one of those works fine. Maybe we can settle on a name for you until you remember yours.

It's a title, so that's close. But if you want a name too, I'm sure something will sound good to you.

I shall give it some thought. ...It doesn't seem that we are headed anywhere just yet, so I have time to think it over.

I hope you come up with something. It'd be nice to have something to call out when I need a handsome man with a magic weapon.

'Help' would do nicely, I think. I'm sure you'll have plenty of handsome men falling over themselves to be of service.

I think I'd rather be helping with the fight than be rescued. Still, I'm pretty well unarmed [ and very injured ] so I'll give you all a chance to impress me.

[it's the whole 'fighting with nails and teeth' thing.]

What can I say, I like to save myself if I can. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate a team effort.

I appreciate a powerful woman, as I'm sure everyone of taste does.

I knew I liked you.

It's a shame we couldn't all go through this place together, we might have made more progress. Or at least I could have showed off a little.

It would be nice, but I don't believe twenty-eight of us would fit in the fridge.

Mm, maybe not all at once, but one at a time...

Anyway, there's not much point to debating it now. I'm just glad there are people here at all, the two that I was with seem to have vanished. I hope they're okay.

If you see a blond young man with a mechanical leg and several bite marks, could you make certain he's alright? I've yet to locate him.

If I see him, of course I will. I wonder why some of us came here and some didn't.

...Perhaps they're being sent through a third time?

There's a disturbing thought. But if so, I hope they make it out this time.

Someone will. I have confidence in that much - or perhaps a lack of confidence in our captor, instead.

That's at least a comforting idea. Even if we didn't make it out, someone definitely will.

I hope everyone gets a chance to punch the culprit in the face, though. We all deserve that much.

I couldn't agree more. I can almost forgive a challenging course, even one as odd as this one, but taking our memories isn't great.

Surely they could have just erased the memories of our powers, if that was the goal?
