Secrets Game Homework!
On January 18th running through end of day on 20th, there will be a secrets game with truth effects.
Required pre-planning is that you write down four secrets and corresponding 'hints'. Both secrets and hints will be used actively in the game and may be revealed.
Secrets are:
A: Determined OOCLY
B: Things that are true about the character
C: Things the character ICly will feel at least somewhat ICly motivated to keep as a secret, if possible
D: Not to be used to revel things about themselves they haven't remembered yet
E: Not required to be things that literally no one knows
Secrets CAN be things characters don't realize/would not believe about themselves, as long as it's still true! So, for example, the following hints would all be valid for Yagami Light, but I wouldn't use the last two as they don't currently apply to Codex:
1. Doesn't drink alcohol because he's a control freak
2. Has no sexual appetite but flirts to manipulate people
3. Is Kira, the world renowned serial killer
4. Is a deluded psychopath with a god-complex
The purpose of HINTS is to help get people rouuughly into the direction of guessing secrets. Hints do NOT need to be true (though they must relate to their corresponding secret in some way), and they can be a single word or a full sentence or whatever. So, example hints for the above secrets might be:
1. Ironically, he's on BARiTONES
2. Virgin
3. He uses a notebook
4. Let's play armchair psychologist
The IDEA is to have fun exposing stuff about your characters that might otherwise be hard to find a way to ICly reveal, so ultimately do what is fun for you! If you really don't have any secrets more deep than your character secretly loves wearing socks with bunnies on them, don't sweat it, just do that!
Other stuff:
A. You need to have the below filled out before you can participate in the game, but IDC if you turn it in after game start as long as it's before you start playing with that character
B. Secrets will be hidden, I don't care if you reveal them OOCly but you'll probably have more fun if you wait to do so until after the game
