There's a snap in the air like the fluttering of a banner in the wind, and then the heavy sound of some large animal breathing.

Gathering around you, though, are creatures that more resemble the idea of animals: lions, wolves, gryphons, unicorns, and stags with stunted bodies, gaping mouths, and rearing poses—like nothing so much as... heraldry. Indeed, upon closer inspection, their bodies seem to be made of stitched brocade. Nevertheless, they bow their heads to you, solemn and respectful, and nudge at you with their heads, paws, and horns, guiding you toward a gap that's opened in the thick curtain of kudzu vines and onto a winding path beyond.

Once you cross through, the vines grow rapidly to cover the open space behind you, and the voices of your fellow idols fade from your ears. It seems as if you’re on your own, now.

❀ ❀ ❀

Here, the path beneath you is partially-paved with ancient-looking stones, and in the distance, from no identifiable direction, is the faint, steady sound of a drum.

It seems the herald-creatures are carrying some things for you: a collection of sixteen different flowers, and a small lantern of blue flame, and a wreath woven from vervain, star of bethlehem, and chamomile.

There’s a tiny light before you, like the winking of a firefly. Then two, and then more and more—but rather than going out, they continue glowing as lines connect between them, tracing the shapes of living constellations in the air around you.

Some of the constellations are people and others animals, but none of them speak. Instead, they twinkle brightly in a welcoming, warm way, and tug gently at your arms to guide you toward a gap that's opened in the thick curtain of kudzu vines and onto a winding path beyond.

Here, the vines that surround your path are hung with delicate chimes, and in some places the kudzu leaves shift to sparkling crystal.

There’s a whirr and a series of quiet bleep-boops; an odd sound like stones grinding together.

Gathering around you all are strange creatures. Wheeling up to future is now are what seem to be friendly robots, almost like roombas, that have been given attachments of long, jointed arms with simple pincers at the ends, and hopping up to ☆ZRAEL are what look like a number of gargoyles, each no more than a few feet high and in the traditional gothic cathedral style—and all animate, their flesh made of living rock.
None of the creatures speak, exactly, but they chitter and nudge at you like they're greeting old friends, and usher you towards a gap that's opened in the thick curtain of kudzu vines and onto a winding path beyond.

❀ ❀ ❀

Here, the vines that surround your path have thick, velvety leaves, and the stems of the vines are traced with shifting, fiber-optic lines that cycle through the rainbow.

The little creatures are carrying some things for you—the roombas carry a wreath of vervain, honeysuckle, and oak flowers and leaves, and the gargoyles a wreath of lotus, clematis, and wild rose. As they approach you, the air shifts in a strange way, and suddenly they have one wreath between them—all those flowers woven together into one, which they offer to you. They also have for you a collection of sixteen different flowers, and a small lantern of blue flame.

There’s a quiet fluttering overhead; a papery rustle from around you; a nudge at your ankles.

Gathering around you all are strange creatures. Materializing around BARiTONES are shifting geometric patterns of red and black, which become owls with deep red eyes and a black-and-white zigzag pattern on their feathers. Another flock—of living origami animals of all kinds, each made from a unique square of colorful paper—gather around Taisho Roman Revolution. Then, clustering around BAD END=DEAD END are… bombs??? covered in spikes, with spiky little legs, vibrating and glowing as if on the verge of explosion.

Here, the vines that surround your path have wine red leaves, sometimes wound through with barbed wire; it looks like someone's hung prayer strips along them, written in an indecipherable language.

The little creatures are carrying some things for you—the owls carry a wreath of Star of Bethlehem, wild rose, and alyssum flowers, the origami animals a wreath of vervain, aconite, and water lily, and the bombs a wreath of aconite, gorse, and hollyhock. Strange: there's a pile of pencils, pens, and crayons at your feet. Where did that come from?

As soon as you take notice of them, though, they move of their own accord, caps popping off to draw into being a collection of simple, animate doodle people. They can’t talk, but wave at you like you're old friends, and instead begin hurrying off in their wobbly way toward a gap that's opened in the thick curtain of kudzu vines and onto a winding path beyond.

Once you cross through, the vines grow rapidly to cover the open space behind you, and the voices of your fellow idols fade from your ears. It seems as if you’re on your own, now.

Here, the vines that surround your path are hung with old newspaper clippings and photos, all too faded with age to properly make out.

Something nudges at your ankles.

When you look down, you see you’re being headbutted by… a number of fluffy white, red-eyed rabbits that, unsettlingly, seem to have small human hands for front paws. They nuzzle your ankles like you're old friends, and they're doing their best to herd you toward a gap that's opened in the thick curtain of kudzu vines and onto a winding path beyond.

There’s a chirruping and giggling from around you; a peeping and chattering overhead; a clattering of hooves on the flagstones.

Gathering around you all are strange creatures. Materializing around LiliS are tiny people that have the look of being grown from plants and flowers: petal-colored faces, with leaf dresses and tunics that look as if they grew onto them, and blossom or dandelion-fluff hair. Another flock—a number of small and colorful creatures—almost like fanciful stuffed animals, except definitely fully alive and somehow capable of flight despite most of them not being winged, not unlike Aibous—gather around Heart Soldier Senshi. Then, approaching WILD CITY is… one extremely tired-looking definitely-human man who is definitely riding a horse and who is absolutely not actually a disguised centaur. The Definitely Human Man curtly introduces himself as Sheriff Pferd, and gives a stiff "welcome back," but any further questions just make him shake his head and give a long-suffering sigh.
Apart from him, none of the creatures speak, but they chitter and nudge at you like they're greeting old friends, and usher you towards a gap that's opened in the thick curtain of kudzu vines and onto a winding path beyond.

Once you cross through, the vines grow rapidly to cover the open space behind you, and the voices of your fellow idols fade from your ears. It seems as if you’re on your own, now.

❀ ❀ ❀

Here, the vines that surround your path are dotted with bright-blooming flowers, and some of the leaves seem to be brightly-colored plastic instead; the air echoes with occasional birdsong and the growls and yips of animals, though no other living creatures are anywhere to be seen.

The little creatures are carrying some things for you—the flower fairies carry a wreath of wild oats, chamomile, and hollyhock flowers, the colorful cute creatures a wreath of clematis, chamomile, and oak, and the man who is definitely not a centaur a wreath of clematis, wild oats, and mimulus. As they approach you, the air shifts in a strange way, and suddenly they have one wreath between them—all those flowers woven together into one, which they offer to you. They also have for you a collection of sixteen different flowers, and a small lantern of blue flame.

[ Hm, what's this?

Whatever you were doing before, you're sent to the Game Tower now. It looks like you're the only ones here, though—?

You'll find yourself in a spacious cave with a skylight. It's dark in the sky right now, but there are soft star-like lights hovering around, harmless to the touch. The ground is carpeted with soft moss and grass, and despite the size of cave, it feels rather homey and comfortable. Even if there is a massive feathery beast in the middle of the cavern.

It glows, not so brightly that it's hard to look at, but a soft chromatic light that pulses with its breath. Currently, it's perched on a nest made of . . . books? Books, jewels, clothes, parchment—all valuable things, to be sure, though some are odd choices for hoarding.

It lifts its head, looking toward you with a gentle, intelligent stare, before directing its head to an off-shoot cavern decorated with a banner of your unit's color. ]

[ Your cavern offshoot is still rather spacious, even with a human-sized egg pressed to the farthest cave wall. It's also surprisingly accommodating: the ground here is carpeted with lush rugs as well as pillows and blankets.

The egg is surrounded by a number of colorful smooth stones, most small enough to hold in one palm. There are eight colors in total, though multiple of each color. Hold a stone and you'll be compelled to speak honestly about the corresponding emotion.

You'll quickly find that your offshoot seems to have reduced echo, or perhaps even sound muffling—from here, you can't hear anyone from any other unit offshoot, and you suspect they can't hear you, either. ]

[ Hm, what's this?

Whatever you were doing before, you're sent to the Game Tower now. It looks like you're the only ones here, though—?

Everyone who shows up is given a unit-themed cooking apron before being ushered onto a circular stage that divides itself into twelve sections—each section is a kitchen for the corresponding unit, though only WILD CITY's is lit up.

The center is the judging table, though there aren't any hosts there. Instead, there is what looks to be a disco ball with a number of people with imeeji idol merchandise and signs—are they fans? Some of them are holding signs like "WILD ♥ LOVE" or otherwise drawn pictures of your respective theme animals. Their merchandise are easier to parse than their faces—if you concentrate they might be distinct for just a moment, but they'll fade into the recesses of your mind as soon as you look away, even if you've got a photographic memory. These are . . . fans? The fans are the judges, maybe?

That feels a little weird, doesn't it? To finally see their faces—not really, given how you can't concentrate, but—

Oh. Maybe you didn't expect to feel that way. No—is this feeling really yours. . . ?

You'll find, as soon as another member of your unit enters the stage, a strange sense of something filling your mind—like there's someone else with you, sharing that same space with you. You can't read their thoughts, not quite, but—their emotions? You can feel every single one of them.

You might try to shut the emotions out, but it's impossible to shut them out for long—the more you try, the less effective it becomes and the more sensitive you become, as though they were well and truly your feelings.

. . . And you're supposed to cook like this? ]
