[ The room is plain, white walls and white ceiling, except for the steel-panel flooring. There are three metal stands rising out of openings in the floor, each of which carries a glass vial on top. One of them just holds water. Of the remaining two, one contains a dark red, opaque liquid with a creamy consistency; the next is a relaxing blue, with small brightly glittering star-like orbs drifting through it.

Both have fancy but identical cast iron stoppers moulded in the shape of a shark plugging them shut. The only difference is that the red vial's shark is painted white, and the blue vial's shark is painted black. ]

Do we have a strategy? I don't want to poison people, but we're sort of past that mattering.

I don't have anyone I've met that I've promised to consider in these kinds of games. Aliza doesn't want to poison people, and I get that, but I also don't want us to end up worse off because of inaction.

Mm. Being poisoned isn't high up on my list of experiences I'd like to try. If we want the opportunity to protect ourselves, then we have to choose to send the poison though.... I don't even know who I'd feel comfortable sending something like that to.

A lot of people I've been friendly with have made a point to say games are their own separate thing. That doesn't really make it easier or make me want to pick them more, but I guess it's good to know...

Games are definitely a beast unto themselves.

I'm not sure Aliza's going to budge on not poisoning anyone. And honestly I'm not sure I really want to force the matter if it's just going to really upset her. If we just send the other two and Aliza and I take the poison if we get sent one, would you be all right with that?

I'm OK with holding back. This time anyways. It seems to really matter to Aliza.

No! It can't just be you two by default. If anything I should take some of the poisons and one of you two avoids it. You'll know what to do better than I will.

Are you sure about that...? It seems a little unfair to expect you to drink poison if you wanted to play to keep us safe.

Whatever choices we make as a unit are something we've gotta deal with together. Plus, it's not like I'm anxious to be poisoned but we should do what gets us through this fastest.

All right. If that's how you feel about it, then that's what we'll do. Thank you for being so easy-going about it. Just know that if you change your mind about being willing to take the hit because it gets to be too scary, you can ask me to tap in in your stead.

I think I'm mostly pretty practical. At the end of the day I want us all to be able to go back to the dorm able to talk with one another.

[ Being poisoned will undoubtedly be bad enough; being pissed off at the people they have to live with on top of it sounds incredibly undesirable. ]

But you're thinking about us as well, so it's really the least I can do.
