Bomb Game: avante en garde edition

[ you open your eyes to find yourself in a room that might look familiar if you just so happened to be a certified zombie survivalist. however, if you were lucky enough to avoid the zombie meet & greet, then welcome to the dankest heckhole in tokyo-f. ]
[ the overhead lights flicker often enough to instantly grind your gears, while simultaneously doing next to nothing to illuminate the dilapidated little room. though a chorus of moans and groans rise from outside, all the doors and windows are securely barricaded, making the shambling monsters a non-issue... though it's possible their existence alone may put you on edge. ]
[ or maybe that's the -fsssst- sound, a subtle hissing coming from what could have passed for fire sprinklers. for the duration of the game a colorless and odorless gas is going to be filling the room, one that clouds judgements and exacerbates anxiety. but, hey!, that's what the janky table and busted chairs in the corner of the room featuring cold tea and dry biscuits is for - a carefully curated space for you and yours to kick back, relax, and KEEP TALKING. ]
[ the center of the room is where the main event sits, a BOMB, with several thick cords snaking out from it connecting to a bunch of different buttons. the entire thing is housed in an unbreakable glass cube, with only the buttons in reach of your grubby hands. a tv screen is suspended overhead, currently displaying the rules & winning conditions, but that's all about to change... ]
[ in the meantime feel free to enjoy a particularly messy wall, one stained with all sorts of things from the last bunch that tried

And wait.
....And wait.
Hmmmmm. Well, they say that no news is good news, and you don't feel any different. And is it just a trick of the light, or does the countdown on the bomb seem to be slowing down.
Congratulations. It looks like you cut the correct wire. ]

Re: Discussion
Great. We have more zombies it seems. And a puzzle to solve.
Re: Discussion
Re: Discussion
They set loose a bunch of-- [ She might not know what zombies are. ] A bunch of monsters on us. Many of us were brutally murdered and maimed. But to add insult to injury, we then rose from the dead as though in a fogged daze becoming mindless monsters ourselves that were set to kill or murder our loved ones.
Re: Discussion
So - Do our best to win?
Re: Discussion
What do you make of the puzzle?
Re: Discussion
It's some sort of message - a hint? But whatever it says is scrambled so we'd have to try and figure that out first, right?
Re: Discussion
My guess is that they must be off by some amount of letters in the alphabet. But... how many?
Re: Discussion
[ Pointing at the letter 'H' in the second row - ] As are usually the only individual ones right?
Re: Discussion
I think you are onto something, Astrid-san. Perhaps we ought to write this out and make a chart of it all. It will be easier to translate over that way.
Re: Discussion
'Knight' and 'The second line is safe. The word before a mild setback and anything else should be avoided'. ]
Re: Discussion
[ His brain is so clouded. ]
So then... nothing from the world 'Honor' I suppose...

Then minor damage you shall have
It starts as a tingling, something scratching at your limbs and at the back of your mind like a mosquito that you just can't quite swat away. Annoying yet persistent.
It seems like you didn't quite pick the right wire, but at least the consequences aren't too dire. ]

Yeah. I'm out of this one.
Re: Discussion
Okay. It's alright. I am accustomed to music.
[ He looks over it all. ]
. . . If we change the notes to letters, then.
[ Give him a moment as he begins spelling it all out. He'll sound the notes aloud as he writes them down. ]
D... A... The 'm', then... Followed by... a, g, e...
Ah-- 'Damage Control'.
Re: Discussion
D and G...
So couldn't the things below it be referencing that whatever numbers those relate to are major and minor?
Re: Discussion
Re: Discussion
Re: Discussion
I believe that intentionally taking minor damage and surviving is our best option.
Re: Discussion
[ Said wryly, ]
But do you really think it's that simple?
Re: Discussion
[ Vikings and scars....! ]
If we still had two safe options, I do believe we would need to think over it a bit more carefully. But since we are choosing to take minor damage, I think going with what we have deduced to be minor is our best course of action.
That is...
[ He writes it all down.
D - 1, A - 2, M - 3, A - 4, G - 5, E - 6 ]
If 'G' is minor damage, then I believe we should choose the number 5.
Re: Discussion
[ She rolls her eyes because!! Idols and scars!!!
But leaves it at that. ]
I think we'll have to leave this one to you; Those runes aren't anything I know much about.
