Battleship Team 2.

[ as you exit the elevator you find yourself in a sleek control room, though the subtle dripdripdrop of water coming from one of the corners of the room tells you that you're likely several leagues under the sea. it's fine... probably. sitting in the center of the room is an enormous table boasting a 3D grid with a display of ships that may look a familiar! to its left and to its right are more screens that seem to be showing nonsense, some of which are flashing, and there are dozens and dozens of buttons just begging to be pressed. comfortable chairs surround the table if you'd like to sit, but feel free to stand if that's your thing. at the head of the room is, perhaps, the largest computer monitor and its displaying a duplicate grid of the one on the center table... except it's blank. for now. it's these two grids that you'll be using in today's game. ]

Discussion.
Re: Discussion.
We have some long swaths in E,F,G, and H.... so maybe we can divide things up further and catch something with... E7, EF, and G3. But we should try something on A and H too I think. Any thoughts?
Re: Discussion.
[ Twitchy over here, she's been in a State about losing games since the poisoning ]
Re: Discussion.
Re: Discussion.
Are you really this optimistic, or are you trying to even out all my doom and gloom?
Re: Discussion.
[ Okay, he had a tiny bit more optimism to offer. ]
...Plus, who knows what getting our ships actually sunk will do to us? I bet it'll be distracting.
[ Status ailments mid-game are not great for judgment. ]
Re: Discussion.
Re: Discussion.
[ and then there were so many fish ]
Re: Discussion.
[ That's his optimism for this round, but his gaze is kind of intense on the screen. ]
We could just barely be missing them, but we should probably start aiming for the edges more.
Re: Discussion.
[ Getting super tense. She does not want another Poison episode. ]
Re: Discussion.
I'll agree they've got the advantage on us if all our shots this round are misses. Otherwise, I think sinking one of their boats while they hit a couple of ours is — kind of equivalent. Especially because they hit our bigger boats, which are gonna take more shots to sink. It'd take them almost a whole turn just to get rid of our, uh, aircraft carrier, and that's if they go in the right direction.
[ Sure, they could also take out two of our boats in one turn, but they do have to pick the right directions from their volley. ]
Re: Discussion.
I guess so.
...I should get bonus points for doing the requisite amount of squirming, which amuses the fans. Ever since the poison, games have really screwed with me. I just try not to make it other people's problem.
[ So the fact that she's saying this is, you know, substantial trust. ]
Re: Discussion.
They do like to watch us sweat. If we played these games ice-cold, it'd probably make for terrible TV.
[ Which would be its own reward, but. ]
We'll be okay. So will they, one way or another.
Re: Discussion.
I know. Eventually.
I guess they already made me live basically my worst nightmare, and it ended up more or less okay. Except for my nerves.
Re: Discussion.
[ —stupid lingering status ailments, but whatever, it's true. He doesn't hate the lock-her-in-her-big-lovely-room idea nearly as much as kill-her-and-hope-she-doesn't-just-get-right-back-up-still-screwed-in-the-head idea. ]
Re: Discussion.
I don't have the new place yet. So I'm not allowed to go bonkers until then.
[ FAMOUS LAST WORDS but it's fine she broke her back damage will be minimal ]
Re: Discussion.
[ Easily, or trying to be easy. ]
