[Your chamber is a large, glass-walled room shaped like a slice of pie. Above, the glass walls extend up into darkness. If there’s a ceiling, it’s impossible to see. There don’t appear to be any other ways out of this room, either.]

[Although the room is lit, you can’t see any particular source of light. You cannot see or hear into the other chambers where the other idols are, but you can still see distorted glimpses of whatever is on the outside of your fish bowl. What could be out there...?]

It's possible if we hold on to it, we'll get a match... but then again, if there are others aware of its effect on you, perhaps they would avoid sending it to us.

Lupine is more than aware and he's been a lot less intense about games since he poisoned me and I almost killed him.

But they could both get outvoted.

It just seems like an unwise play when there are many other cards they could still send to us without setting off that particular problem. ...But you would know them best.

Depends what it does. That one reversed my morality or made me nihilistic or something. If it reduces inhibitions or increases aggression enough, you also get a massacre. And we've already covered starvation.

Think of me more like a lion than a human and you'll get the idea.

Of course not. He thought we'd just die. So did I. He was as shocked as anyone when it made me go all evil mode.

Then you believe that, knowing the consequences, he would still allow his unit to send you a "starvation" card instead of any of the other possibilities? It doesn't seem like they're wanting for ways to kill us.

I don't know, Causality. I wish I had some intelligent answer, but I can't think. Succeeding for us means dooming someone I love, but losing ourselves could also mean I hurt a lot of people. I'm not capable of putting my feelings aside in the midst of that.

I hope you're right, but that's the best I've got.

There was. My losing my mind with possibilities we can't predict doesn't help, and it's exactly what they want us to do. I probably should have known better than to get so close to someone on another unit, but here we are.

For whatever it's worth, if we weren't in the same group I'd be miserable at the thought of sending you any of those cards.
