The others all have those who care for them. [Nya feels no real need to defend anyone off of his unit. He would gladly defend sensitiv, if it were only possible to do so. Even at the expense of himself.]
I don't think they'd be grateful, no. It's a business transaction for them as far as I can tell, but I think that it would do wonders for our relationship with them. If we were to defend them here, even if they don't defend us back, they would owe us, and I feel like at the least, Aries or Haruto would feel indebted enough to pay it back.
And on the other hand, not defending them, especially if they choose to defend us, means they will likely grow more resentment and distrust toward us.
As far as I can tell, he's... paranoid to the point of being actually delusional. I kept reassuring him that I wasn't interested in hurting Wild City, and he was convinced that I was mocking him and asking him to grovel for the life of his teammates. I don't... think it's wise to count on him to behave, um, predictably.
Nevertheless, we won't lose anything by giving them a show of faith. I know other units with people on them that I care about, but let's face it... most of them are dating other, more popular units who are almost certain to be safe.
My vote is for Wild City. I want to lay the seeds of trust and understanding with them, no matter how distrusting they may seem.
...I'm sorry. I know you want to defend Nine, and he's told me he worries about us, too. I just think that people like Boss, Tatsuya, and Phoenix have good, strong ties to other units, too.
I don't disagree. But I worry that others are going to use that same logic. "Oh, someone else will protect them." Plus, I hate that Wild City is already having a hold over our decisions. It feels like letting Aries-san's threats win.
I can understand that too... I wish I could defend everyone that I want to defend. Even if it meant sacrificing myself to allow others to live, I would do it to give the chance to others.
Besides, Aries isn't the only member of Wild City. I think perhaps the others could appreciate it, too. Don't they have newer members? Or at least one new member...
If we start them out on a good foot, things could improve, maybe.

[it's not disbelieving or incredulous, just gentle prodding.]
As for Wild City... you really think they'd be grateful?

Can we really afford not to?

Otherwise, I worry they may hold grudges yet.

I-is it...? Thank? You?

But you're thinking of the bigger picture.

[but they seem to not mind him threatening to murder us all, so, like,]

It's just one game, anyway. We'll pick ourselves back up after it and keep going, as we have before...

[possibly literally picking ourselves up, in pieces]

[Frowns. He wishes he had something better than that, but there it is.]

We... we will be. And that's worth a lot.
