HEART GAME: REQUIEM (run 1)

You awaken in the ☆ZRAEL dorm common room. It’s dark. Darker than usual, and the reason why is immediately apparent: the lamps are all extinguished, the stars have disappeared, and the moon has shifted to new. The ocean below the glass panes of the floor is silent and still. Everything feels cold and unmoving, not unlike a painting.

Yup. This seems like a pretty obvious place to go.

'Sides, it'll be interesting to see what happens.

"I thought-- you said you wanted to help her, before," Hurricane says. "... do you think this'll help?"

I don't really care.

Nemesis's face twists a little.

Hurricane bristles, yelling, "-- you just said you cared about her! You suddenly don't anymore?!"

[frowns]

...Yeah, I guess I did say that. Huh.

"So-- which is it?" Nemesis says, after a moment. "Do you care or not?"

I really don't.

They both fall silent. Nemesis leans slightly against Hurricane's side, and eventually, he says, "... do whatever you want."

[turns to the door and casts ice knife on it, let's see if that does any damage]

The knife sticks into the wood and disappears. Nothing happens.

Well, that was fucking nothing.

[this is definitely not going to work but slams into the door shoulder first, str roll 2]

The door shudders a bit under the hit, but. Nothing.

Uuuuuugh.

[turning back to Nem and Hurricane]

I don't suppose you guys would be willing to help out?

Nemesis immediately says, "No."

But Hurricane hesitates, and points his staff at you, and casts Enhance. You gain +3 STR for the next attack.

Hey, thanks.

[and another attempt! but despite the help, this one's even feebler with a -3]

...

Hurricane casts Enhance on you again.

+3 to INT because you clearly need smarts more than brawn right now, geez.

[okay this is obviously not happening]

Guess I'll just have to find that key after all. What a pain.

[turning to the others once again]

Hey, Nem. Didn't you say you saw something disappear here?

She frowns. "Uh-- yeah... I couldn't find anything though."

And I didn't find anything like that when I looked around, either. So either it's not here, or we didn't look close enough.

[goes around the house, trying extra hard to see if anything's lurking around! 11 on the roll]

... well, you're not sure how you missed it, before.

But you look up and see the bright green eyes of a massive bat-like creature staring down at you from the roof of the house, teeth bared and fur bristling.

Oh. Hey there.

[very slowly and carefully takes the rifle from where he'd slung it around his back or something]

The creature hisses at the sight of the gun, but doesn't move.

[good because he's shooting it with a 22! annnd 4 damage]

[ it shrieks in pain and-- freezes, staring at him--

Then launches itself down to swipe at him with its claw with 18 to hit-- and 1 damage. ]

but while it's down he's dropping the rifle and going for the stake with a -1 on the attack]
