Nine-Nine Heart - Run 2

[It's time for a new an exciting place, right? A land of adventure and fun and excitement!

Wait? Then why does this look like Tokyo-F. Like a Tokyo-F that has seen better days.

A dark purple haze has settled over the city, thick and suffocating, oppressive and heavy. The sky above is filled with yawning teeth and blinking eyes stare back at you. Buildings lie in tatters and their remains litter the landscape.

A few proud buildings still stand tall! The most prominent one among them - THE GAME TOWER. Though it is sporting more of an evil villain castle vibe than you remember. And it certainly used to be taller and not leaking out that purple smoke filling the air. Nonetheless it stands as a beacon in the city, the focal point in the ruin around you.

A voice echos in your head. "Find the Dark Master."

GAME START!]

I know this guy, from 99's memory. And the memory was in like, Ancient Egypt. So I'm pretty sure the world isn't actually ending and this's just like...some weird dream or something. So don't freak out, okay? ...Not that historical data implies there's gonna be a good ending to any of this, but it probably won't be the end of the world.

Okay... okay, good. That's something, anyway.

If it's a dream, though, and I don't know this guy... how am I seeing this?

[shrugs]

Probably not your dream. Maybe it's mine? If so, sorry for getting you into trouble again... I'm gonna try to finish it quick, okay?

Hey. Rather be in here as backup than have you going it alone.

We'll both finish it quick.

[squeezes his hand again]

He asked me to ride with him. Don't really wanna piss him off, at least not yet.

[hesitates]

...How much've you talked with 99 about, uh, serious stuff?

....like. Demon-serious stuff?

Look... Just stay here and keep the other guys talking, okay? I'll be quick. Call if you need anything, okay?

[gives him another squeeze and heads out]

[He doesn't like anything about this... especially because not!99 just told him what happens if the Dark Lord shows.]

[But, whups, looks like she's. Gone already.]
