[ The elevator opens up to a room spacious enough to house the whole unit comfortably, but with no furniture to speak of except a touchscreen podium near the far wall, displaying a row of four larger-than-life mahjong tiles on a red background. On the left side of the screen is a square that says TRADE. The walls and floor of the room are nearly checkered with metal panels, out of place against the rest of the marble flooring and unremarkable off-white walls.

But, we already resolved to protect ourselves from the beginning. If we were to back down now, then what was the point of playing that tile?

We didn't know what was going to happen with the first tile. It could have not gone through. Now we're more well-informed...

[drops his face into his hands and scrubs at it for a moment, then looks up, fingers still tangled in his hair. his voice is quiet.]
