[ The light which spread everywhere intensifies, gaining not just brightness but color. It focuses with its intensity, golden lines swarming your vision. And where the gold coalesces, it leaves space between with a black that opens out like a sea, sweeping across your vision as your eyes adjust until you can see the truth of your new surroundings.

The golden bars are not the gates that welcomed you in.

They're the bars to a cell you've been dumped in with your unfortunate compatriots. A cell that sits in an inky sea of darkness, broken up not by light across objects in your vision but by brilliant colors each so solid that the darkness cannot cover them up. And, in your vision, guarding the cage is a figure, with six wings, each as golden as the bars. Their eyes are a milky expanse of white-blue light, emanating outwards, like they've caught you in headlights.

A jailer's keyring sits at their waist. ]

Even if we take down the bars, it seems like we're in some kind of elevator in hell. A jailbreak might just get us in more trouble. It's not a way "out."

[glances over at the guards.]

But I am interested in seeing a little more of what's going on here than these guys.

It's probably Pythia at the top of the chain, though. They're "angels," and if this was Asmodeus's jail I feel like he'd get us into it a lot more directly. And they're supposedly the only ones who deal with the production.

No it's not. We made an "escape attempt." And the guard said we get a call before our "bail, trial, or punishment, whichever comes first."

We crossed a border. Unintentionally, it could even be argued. That doesn't have to carry a punishment with it. Doubt they even think of us as something to be reasoned with, just rats who unlocked the cage.
