Start - Living Room

The starting room is, of course, the living room! This is DEFINITELY where one gathers as a family, right? The bright pink walls might seem a little obnoxious, but with the light coming from the windows, it does at least seem cheerful. And you can always leave out the front door if you decide you can’t stand it.

Inside, it has what you would expect perhaps: a tv, a nice rug, a pink couch set, a lamp, a stereo, a small bookcase, and pretty landscape paintings that decorate the walls. There's even a nice fireplace!

It also has a few odd items: A gnome statue, an ice cream cart, and a large teddy bear.

There are stairs that seem to lead up to a hallway of bedrooms and a bathroom, and also a door that leads to the kitchen.

Kitchen

The kitchen is in fact . . . a kitchen. You have an island with chairs for everyone to sit around. There’s also the familiar items that goes in a kitchen: an oven, a fridge filled with food, silverware, a coffeemaker. You also have pots and pans, and a large window overlooking the sink. There's also a door that seems to go into the yard.

But again there are some weird objects that also happen to be in there: a cactus plant, a pair of handcuffs, and playing cards.

Master Bedroom

You find yourself in a nice and cozy bedroom. It feels quite nice, like you can take a nap RIGHT NOW.

There’s a queen size bed which you can lie on filled with pillows, an extra blanket, a dresser with clothing, a full body mirror, a houseplant facing a large curtained window, some cute paintings on the wall, and a computer that you can browse on. There's also a treadmill!

Like all of the other rooms, there's some weird things in here: a bottle of mayonnaise, a barrel of water, and a voice-warping microphone.

[Considers for a moment or two, then sits himself down at the computer. If there's internet, he browses sits that look like they've got good info. If there's not, he pokes through the computer itself, looking for programs that have anything helpful, instead.]

Play Room

This place is pretty big for a play room! In the playroom, you can find all sorts of toys including a bee car, some swings, and a giant dollhouse. There's also an empty crib, a toddler bed, a toybox filled with generic toys, a kid craft table, and a tablet with various kid video apps.

There is of course a window, but for some reason, it has iron bars across it. Feel free to also rest in the tent or the floor sofas as needed. And whoa, there's a Leftendo available.

Some weirder things you can find here: a car door, medicine, a single rock.

Bathroom

It's a bathroom.

The bathroom has your bathtub/shower combo with all the necessary shampoo, bubble bath, glitter bath bombs, and soap. It also has a medicine cabinet which holds your basic first aid + makeup. And of course, basic standard bathroom things like toilet, sink, towel rack with towels. You can also find a rubber ducky!

Some more non-standard things include a jigsaw puzzle, an empty picture frame, and a box of matches.

Scenario

It seems that you're doing just fine in your house. However, it might be a good idea to get some money! This could involve looking for a job, but you've heard there are some great incentives to starting a family business.

However, if you did start a business, you'd have to agree on just what it is that you're gonna sell!

Or is there another way you can come up with money?

Round 02

It takes a while for your PI-slash-street singing business to really get off the ground. After all, the people of the neighborhood only know you as the quiet, secluded and mysterious people who live next door. However, you do manage to attract some very wealthy clients. While the PI work may not be abundant, you sure do rake in the dough! And some of them are rather charmed by the songs sung on sidewalk corners. Some of the PI requests may be a bit on the questionably legal side, though.

If you step out of your house to tend to your business, you also get a nice view of the rest of the neighborhood.

Scenario 02

While you went exploring out at the cops and making friends, it's not hard to see that some things don't add up. The hours people say they put in at the station and yet you've seen them around town, not doing anything at all. Or seeing faces you swear you've seen before coming in and out.

It seems they might have noticed that you have noticed some things. And they promise the next job will get you an extra bit of cash.

And it would be good if you took it.

[a) Is the sketchiest thing they're up to that they're slacking off on the clock a little? He is definitely paying a little more attention after he first notices, to see if that's really all it is.]

[b) How much of a dick was the cop talking being when that last part happened? Are we talking overt threat here?]

[You find yourself in a paint-filled rave.

Even though it's mid-day, it seems like people are still having a good time and not letting the time of day stop them. Paint is being sprayed everywhere, ravers are throwing paint at one another, you are probably also getting covered in rainbow paint if you get anywhere close to the dance floor.

There are no windows to be seen, the darkness only illuminated by the disco strobe lights above. The music is blaring so hard, the bass is vibrating in your chest until you can't tell if your heart is beating properly (it is though). Of course you can get drinks from the small bar, but most people seem way more interested in the dancing.

There are posters and signs that seem to explain the history of the club and where it came from, and also several photographs including a really funky looking old dude named "Rex Splosion, Founder."

It seems this club is for the loud, the noisy, the entranced.]

Final Results (?)

[As a private investigator, you got to see much of the weird going-ons in this town. A bunch of thieves had also gotten involved and released the imprisoned, leaving the cops behind in the jail cells, tied up. It made your audio leaking way easier to catch those involved before the info could get destroyed.

And the level of entanglement is amazing. They had a hand in not only the policeforce, local businesses such as pet stores and local bars, but also the schools as well. But as these cops lose their job, the criminal underbelly of the town has grown quite significantly. Some say it is because one of the great kings have been murdered by a new assassin family. Another king was destroyed by some cyber hackers. Some say it is because there are fears of the three great companies rising to take over the town. And for now, you can only watch as the power balance starts to shift.

What sort of mysteries will you be forced to unravel...?
