[ You spill out of the elevator into the dining room— the elevator is gone when you look back.

A wall of incandescent lights burn against one wall, the other three nothing but mirrors set into steel frames like windows— all of them opening to reveal booze behind them. There's no banquet table, but smaller tables and champagne cube, each with leather chairs with leather cuffs and chains at the feet and wrists clustered around in groups of three to five. Red curtains drop down from the ceiling, ready to be pulled around to create a small intimate private setting. None of the tables are laid with food— at least, not much of it. This one has a spread that's more than half rocks and jewelry, a few pieces of chocolate scattered throughout, this one has a chunk of raw meat, three slices carefully carved, then the main mass stabbed through with nine knives and two forks.

This is another chance, isn’t it? Yes, a second chance. A third chance. A fourth? A fifth? You want to speak words of love, but something bubbles in your throat.

A holy symbol hangs from a hook near the exit.

A readout on your phone tells you the rules and displays the sanity goal (explore rooms) and your traitor goal (ROMANCE MURDER) as well as the item that you've been given (holy item). It looks like nothing is stopping you from committing the traitor goal even while you're sane, if you wish to.

There is one exit: North. ]

[Maki appears this time with a sharp gasp, her hand going immediately to her throat.

She is very soaked in blood, by this point. At least three slit throats worth of blood. Her sleeves are torn up, and there's a ragged hole in the shoulder of her dress.]

Ah...

[ is also pretty soaked in blood, though probably a lot of it is not his own? considering the heaviest concentration is around his hands and mouth, still. ]

Oh, long time no see. ... You okay?

[Hers is also probably not all hers, but a lot of it has run down her chest, and the front of her dress is thoroughly saturated at this point.]

Man Eater...

[She seems grateful to see him? And then she grabs his arm in a tight grip.]

Intensity killed me.

[ he lets her grab her arm and even leans into it a bit, though that means she'll feel him stiffen slightly at the last part. ]

... Is this where I say "congratulations"?

...I don't know. I killed King. He died in front of him. He told me it hurt him more than if I'd killed him again. I wonder if he'll hate me now.

[Her voice is some combination of giddy and distressed.]

[ his brow furrows. ]

... Had no idea he felt that strongly about it.

[ "about him." ]

[Maki makes a noise that's... almost a laugh?]

I knew some of it. He got furious at me, when I took King away, after a game, once. He's a special person to him, from their memories. A rival...? That kind of thing, that I can't be to anyone. But of course he won't talk about it, so I didn't know his feelings exactly.

I guess I can tell that sort of thing this way, too.

[ snorts. ]

Is that what you've been killing for? A test?

That's part of it. I love Intensity, and when I killed him, before, it hurt, and I regretted it. So, I decided... everyone else I have feelings for... I have to kill them too. I'll know how I feel then... and how they feel. I won't have to wonder. Intensity won't have to wonder. And Intensity won't be the only one to feel the pain.

[ glances over at her face, making a vague, considering sound. then he just shrugs. ]

Can't relate. I've never regretted killing anyone—Intensity included.

[she tilts her head slightly]

Oh? What are you killing for, then?

'Cause that's the right way for someone like me to love.

Do you love everyone you kill?

'Course not. It's sorta like, y'know, "not all homicides are murders, but all murders are homicides"? That kinda thing. Gyahaha, well, I'm not really good at explaining any of it with words, to be honest! That's why I'm letting my actions do the talking.

What if they don't understand?

[After a pause, she starts smiling in a pretty uncharacteristic way]

I've died three times, now. And killed three people.

[she loves this uncharacteristic smile]

That's so good, Maki. You have made me proud.

[She doesn't seem to especially acknowledge this, almost continuing her thought like God didn't even speak.]

...Though, there's only two of them who really mattered. And there's still one person left I definitely have to kill.

[strangely doesn't mind this, huh]

Oh? Keep going, I want to hear who this is.

Mars, from Heart Soldier Senshi. He's the only other one I really need to test my feelings for.

Oh, hm, well, he is fine. This is okay with me.

[said kind of like someone talking to themself while watching a tv show]
