Betrayal - BAD END=DEAD END

[ You spill out of the elevator into a graveyard— the elevator is gone when you look back.

It is, predictably, spooky as fuck: cobwebs culminate to huge masses of spindly white on the iron bars that line the plot of land, as well as on the various headstones. They're unreadable by this point, text worn away by time and wind, but while many of these graves have only been exposed to forces of nature, some of them have been tampered by what could only be human hands. Several grave plots have been completely upturned, caskets open and skeletons exposed, bodies completely broken and arranged messily as if someone had manhandled them in order to look for something. The caskets give a clear idea of what that might be: there are parts missing to them, the lining and the decorative emblems and even the hinges, on some caskets. Grave robbing seems to be popular, here.

There are also just a few graves with an open coffin and no body. How . . . mysterious. . .

Not everyone who died here was given a coffin, or a grave. The sight of an empty coffin's decadent lining fills you with a sense of revulsion; you get the feeling that some people's finery came at other people's expense. Someone amidst the less fortunate once tried to bring justice - only to fail, and die a nameless, unknown death, while these people went on to one day even rot in more silk and gold. But it's just a hunch - the knowledge sits uncertainly in your head, faint and far-off. You could bring it into focus, maybe, but the vague impression of loathing and despair - well, it's probably better off left a vague impression. If you lose your sanity, or are damaged too far, though, it will overwhelm you.

A medallion sits on an intact monument and Exael's hologram balances on the edge of it, rocking back and forth and watching you. If you have questions and she's not busy with hosting or another unit, she'll appear here to answer them.

A readout on your phone tells you the rules and displays the sanity goal (explore rooms) and your traitor goal (kill someone and steal an item from them) as well as the item that you've been given (medallion). It looks like nothing is stopping you from committing the traitor goal even while you're sane, if you wish to.

There is one exit: East. ]

[Well. Well. Phoenix has. Blood all over him. Like. All up his arms and his torso and legs and a few smears on his face. He's got a satchel that appears to be made of curtains and it bulges oddly and... drips... wetly... redly...

Anyway he looks not. Sane but when he sees Boss he's grabbing for his face with a red red hand and yanking him into his arms.]

[--AT LEAST GIVE HIM SOME TIME TO PROCESS THIS SHIT?!

but there's a clear moment where his Oh Shit levels make it plenty clear that he half-thinks he's about to get fucking murdered or something?]

[I mean Phoenix sure looks like a fucking murderer right now (ha) but so far all he does is wrap an arm around Boss and tug him into a hungry, actually honestly desperately needy kiss.]

[I--OKAY?!

cautiously putting his hands on Phoenix's chest and maybe trying to find a way to squirm out of the grip a bit, but responding to the kiss at least so at least there's that sign that he's not necessarily against kissing Phoenix so much as... yikes?!]

[Nuh-uh! He pushes on Boss a little, making sure Boss is firmly trapped between himself and Sanguine, and that kiss is not stopping even though it tastes like salty tears and blood a bit. His tongue is being very invasive of Boss's mouth, his breathing through his nose is quick and uneven, and the hand that isn't holding Boss's face is in Sanguine's hair like he's trying to pull them both against him at the same time, which he... is...]

[okay... okay but this is all... a lot. and he needs to breathe, so one hand is going up to Phoenix's hair to YANK AT IT to pull his head back. or trying to anyway (DO I NEED TO ROLL FOR THIS?)]

[Nah Boss can manage, any contact is good, even yanking hair, and Phoenix lets out a soft noise that is not really pain. The bloody hand holding Boss's chin slides back into his hair, at the back of his neck, so he's just holding both his unitmates now and starting to cry. Because this is entirely sane and fine.]

[oh jesus. what even, both of you.

he's also winded but quick to recover.]

W-what's going on? What happened?

I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, no one can be trusted, don't... Don't trust anyone they all want to kill you and betray you and abandon you forever and --you can't trust anyone. You can't. And this place separates people, and if I can't keep you close you'll die. Or worse. Much worse.

[ Funny question, that.

When he first turns up in the room, Sanguine's curled up on the floor. His eyes are red-rimmed and his face has a look of long-dried tears streaked across his cheeks. He's far less bloody than Phoenix— His shirt's a little shredded and there's some blood there, but that's fine.

The moment he hears the sounds of movement, though, Sanguine lurches to his feet and heads right over to Boss. ]

[Boss is... yanked by the face into Phoenix's bloody arms and is trying his damn best not to let onto his alarm but YOU GUYS THIS IS REALLY ALARMING?!]

[ Okay, but is Sanguine wrapping his arms around Boss and nuzzling him while Phoenix is making out more or less alarming? ]

[it has him startling. and trying to look behind himself to see wha--who?! and being baffled by all of this?!]

[ I hope you weren't expecting an answer. Sanguine makes some content noises, so maybe that or a possible glimpse of the tattoo on his right hand and arm might give him away. ]

bus trying to put distance between his and Phoenix's faces though. so he can. y'know. breathe. doesn't seem to mind Sanguine's nuzzling, at least?]

[ On the one hand, Sanguine is being entirely unhelpful in Boss's goal. On the other hand, he isn't actively trying to push Boss and Phoenix together? He did shift positions so he could be holding onto both of them though, never quite stopping with the nuzzling. ]

[ Sanguine makes a needy sound and tilts his head towards Phoenix's hand for easier access, all while continuing to nuzzle at Boss. ]

[Yanking roughly on Sanguine's hair, get closer, be closer!!]

[ That's more than fine with Sanguine! He makes a moan that's frankly almost lewd at the hair tug, and then shifts position so he can have one arm around Boss and the other around Phoenix, never quite stopping with the cuddling. ]
