You can come and go as you will, but once you have left the room, you cannot speak of anything that transpires within: not your choices, not your discussion, not your alliances.

[Griffin blinks, completely taken aback by the accent. It's surprising enough that the gold in his eyes fizzles out immediately, and just adds to this feeling of... maybe... did he ever really know Gold at all?

He's such a straightforward, face value person that it never even occurred to him that Gold's feelings ran so deep. He never let it on.

There's a stunned silence that takes all the wind out of his sails. Then, quietly,]

...You're not an asshole. I'm the asshole.

You're right...? I shouldn't have assumed I-- understood what you guys felt. It wasn't any of my business and...

We're a unit an' unit decisions involve all of us. So we're assholes for not explainin' it clearly an' you can be assholes for not askin' but that's jus' not knowin' so I'm only a lil' mad about that.

I get that you're tryin' to help us, but jus' ask us stuff instead of sellin' your life away for some unit who'll only change the way we think about 'em by askin' one of us to be used as a hostage against our own unit! 'Cause that's the only way I can see it!

You're allowed to make whatever choices ya want. I'm jus' also allowed ta say they're stupid.

No one here's some perfect, never wrong being. We're all fuck up assholes, but at the very least we should be able ta rely on each other ta get better. But we can't do that if no one knows what the hell anyone else is doin'.
