[ The room is BRIGHT YELLOW, as all the rooms you will enter are. Black tiles make up the floor, changing to your unit's color when pressure is placed on them. There is a button in the very center of the room standing on a podium; it's slightly smaller than palm-sized.]

[ and she had been hoping to catch her off guard, so then she could bring down her actual heart weapon to do some real damage. she's not interested in killing amaranth, so the blade of the heart weapon isn't going to slice anything off, but if it does connect it's going to hurt like a bitch. ]

[ a damn shame that it doesn't,
since d.va trips up as soon as the staff slams into her armored legs. ]

[ she de-henshins, hitting the trigger on the hookshot to call back the bladed cable as she tries to stumble into something akin to a dodgeroll, which she wouldn't have been able to do were she still armored. it's... definitely not as graceful as it could have been, and it certainly leaves her open for another attack, though she'll do her best to parry... awkwardly, if nothing else. ]

As D.va rolls, Amaranth cuts off her sight—
—And Amaranth herself moves to her flank, staff jabbing down with sudden sharp force at her ribs. ]

[ this isn't something she's experienced in some time...
but it's also not something that she's altogether unfamiliar with. ]

[ she spent a fair amount of time in the dark, because she anticipating her handicap being taken advantage of... though this is a little bit different. d.va isn't sure amaranth is aware her eyes are robotic, but regardless she's been blinded. ]

[ having been keeping tabs on her location she shifts, bringing both her replica gun and her heart weapon to block with a surprising swiftness. ]

I don't think so. [ the blow still hurts, because of the sheer force behind it, but d.va manages to successfully protect her ribs... for now. ]

I'm slightly down, but not completely out. [ she just needs to be hyper-vigilante and careful. ]

—and then the staff comes fwipping down at her upper back between her shoulder blades, knocking her sharply forward.

in a different sort of fight, it might have been her skull. ]

[ D.va's vision clears to reveal that she's surrounded from every side and above by sharp-thorned brambles made of red jade—dense branches bare except for spines a handspan long.
