Heart Game: Intensity (Turn 2)

In the beginning, there is nothing but darkness and silence. A sleep that gives no rest but one out of necessity in order to keep functioning. Behind closed eyelids, the numbers of a clock tick down - one painstaking second at a time.

TIME UNTIL REBOOT:


And then you wake up.

As you shift to a standing position, you feel something sharp and pointed press against your side. Digging into the nearest pocket, you will find two small puzzle pieces. And from their odd shape, it looks like they would fit into a 3D spherical puzzle. Odd. You've never seen them before, but you do get a sense that these are a currency of some sort. Spend them wisely!

Last time, she was kind of... mm, what she really wants is affection and approval, definitely. But after all the stuff before, she seemed kind of resigned that she wasn't ever going to get that, so there was no point trying to earn it. So she's settling for getting attention, even if it's negative. Or something like that.

It's not like most of ZRAEL isn't like that too, to greater or lesser extents. If she could just calm down and get over herself enough to make a little bit of an effort, we could all get along and she wouldn't need to act like an idiot.

I told her that but she didn't seem interested.

[she's still quiet for another few seconds, trying to find the words. eventually:]

I feel like there isn't a place for me here.

What makes you feel that way?

I woke up with the King of Hell, but he's... him as a cold demonic ruler who's just continuing everything just as is is now, but with him in charge. He said after he took over, he asked me to join a pilot of a new program, I agreed, I graduated and now I could sign a contract for my wish and serve him and all that. I told him that wasn't what I wanted at all and refused.

His True Heart is here, with—everyone. Man Eater is guarding it. I...

It's future is now and Man Eater. It's not everyone.

But I can see why you'd feel hurt.

Do keep in mind it's likely that his King of Hell persona is likely an exaggeration representing what he thinks he has to become.

I bet you're somewhere in this heart though. Without a doubt. You're precious to him.

I know it's an exaggeration. But it's like—that's what he thinks I want from him, too. Him to be cold and effective, giving me orders and granting my wishes. No weaknesses so he can't be a disappointment.

[attempting to mimic Intensity's sarcastic voice, not very well:]

"Are you disappointed? How did I not see that one coming?"

He's said that to me in real life, too. That I'm always disappointed in him, that nothing he does is good enough. That I want things from him he can't provide.

None of that is true, and I keep telling him that, but...
