One of the walls has a bevy of flowers, and there is a kettle set up on the stove. You can do it, Illya!

I like lots of kinds of tea. Mm, some work together more than others? You can try different things.

[ hums inquisitively as she glances at the flowers and at the person and then back again ]

Maybe I should organize these by color. . . do you like flowers?

I do. What about you...?

Sella grew them in my mansion, so I don't hate them. . .

But it's not as if I especially love them, either.

[ hmm ]

Do you have a favorite flower in particular?

Not in particular? Flowers are precious to me in general.

[smiles]

But that's not helping you make tea, I know.

It's okay. It's not like I know how to make tea to begin with. I guess you could say I was a little spoiled, back home.

You can pick out as many or as little as you like. You can try them once they're steeped, and see how they taste.

I see a snowdrop flower, and there's irises and azaleas. . . camellias, too. I see a dahlia--

Hey, were you a part of LiliS before, then?

I was. I left not too long ago, but I was here from the beginning of LiliS. My name's Lavender.

It's nice to meet you, Lavender.

[ curtsies ]

Oh, but if you were here from the beginning. . . that means I can ask, right? Were there any other members that left? If this puzzle deals with the other members of LiliS, I don't want to leave anyone out that I might be forgetting.

So far, I'm the only one who's graduated. There were others who came and were transferred away... some who came back. Some who've been gone a long while, like Lily and Hellebore. When I graduated, the only other one who had been here from the beginning with me was Amaranth.

Okay, so it should be like this. . .

[ she picks out several of the flowers out in no particular order ]

I heard that John had a flower associated with him, too. Do you know what flower that was? I didn't get to figure that out yet.

He doesn't have one.

Then was she mistaken, then. . . Hmm.

Well, guess I'll go with these.

[ just gonna go right on ahead and look at the kettle first to check if there's anything in there first before putting any of the flowers in.

does she have to heat the water up? is there even any water in there? she vaguely recalls some of the tea-related things but she's never actually done any of this before ]

[the water in the kettle is somehow at a perfect simmer. lavender rises and goes over to show illya how to steep and pour]

Here. Once it's steeped, we just have to wait a few minutes, and then we can try it.

[minutes pass... and lavender pours two small cups, one for each of them to try. it's hot, so be careful!]

Hmmm... there's something... kind of bitter about it. Just a little. The other flavors I like, but there's something in it that doesn't pair well. Try again?

[ she's learning!

she does wait patiently at least as she takes the cup, blowing on it in an attempt to cool it down. hm. ]

Hmm.

So one or some of them is off. . . let's try--

Hmmm... same problem as before. Most of the flavors taste good together... but there's just that one note of bitterness that throws everything off.

Bitter. . . . bitter, hmm.

Maybe it's like. . .that?
