Heart Game: Duality - Round 2

Your sleep is restless, and it's hard to settle as your eyelids refusing to stop twitching, and you can feel an itch at the back of your mind, flashes of uncomfortable thoughts dipping in and out of your dreams, constantly interrupting your tries to relax. ... Are you even asleep?

Apparently you were, because you wake up with a start, cheek pressed uncomfortably to steel flooring and flickering lights overhead. Unfortunately, you don't feel very rested at all.

I can help. I might not have a lot of points, but... this [ she pivots towards it and kind of stares at the damage. ] is my fault. And [ leans in to whisper, ] welding and that sort of thing is, like, my hobby. I bet I could make you an awesome door.

Anyway, ah, what is this place?

You could fix it in here?

[he hesitates]

Ah... this... this is Prison.

...

[ deflates a little. ]

Here, ah, [ she's going to take out her phone and she if she can access the points shop. her gaze flickers back up to him when he mentions that it's prison though. ]

Prison? [ tilts her head slowly. ] And you're in... prison...?

[the points shop won't have effect on anything in here. you can't access it.]

Prison. It's kind of our hangout place. I don't know why we call it that, though.

[ she's going to frown at her phone for a couple of moments. ]

I guess I can't fix it here...

And, oh, that's kind of cute. y'Know, aside from, like, the name. But I guess it's your own prison, keeping everything else out instead of the opposite, like keeping stuff in. Your own little safe haven.

[ realizes she's rambling and trails off, giving a sort of chuckle. ] Here, I almost forgot. I picked these up along the way. [ one black and one white cat plush. ]

Ah...

From the stairs and then from the hall.

Hey. You wouldn't happen to know what's at the bottom of the stairs, like, if I jumped down there...

There's no railing and I'm pretty sure I'd die if I just, ah, [ waves her hand about. ] you know. Something's going on with my abilities.

[he looks a little frantic]

Don't. It's not safe. It's not deadly, but... just don't.

[ this darkness is just asking to be explored. ]

[ she's going to take a step forward and circle her arms around him for a hug. ] ...hey. Duality. Relax, alright, I didn't mean to, like, ...

If something's bothering you, then we should get to the bottom of it, yeah, and try to make it better. And if it's down there...

It's not. Trust me. It's not in there. That's just... bad. It's difficult to get out of it too.

Then tell me where.

I want to help.

[ she stares down the broken door and the darkness waiting on the other side. ]

And I'm not alone. I have a friend to help me along the way... [ she summons her mech, though it's the size of a go-kart. ] Meet Tokki.

[he still looks incredibly apprehensive]

Tokki...?

My mech! Normally she's a lot bigger, since, back home, I had been able to pilot her, but, here, it's like she's my mechnificent [ ♥ ] buddy!

And there's nothing that the two of us can't do, so... c'mon. [ her tone grows softer. ] Let me help. Even if it's just a little, Duality.

I can't stop you. But...

If you go there, I can't... help. I can't do anything.

[ a touch of hesitance, ] Will it make things worse?

I don't know...? It's always been there.

...

Here. [ she's going to pass the plushies along to him and then look around to see if there's anything she can use to barricade the door. ]

After this is all over we're going to do something fun together. Me, you, Yuki, and Queen.

Ah... okay.

[you could probably hand a blanket in front of the door? there's a ton of them]

[ she is going to do just that then. it's not the best solution, but it's something. ]

I'll see you around, Duality. [ gives him a small smile and motions for tokki to follow her back into the stairwell. ]

[You go back to the top of the stairs.]
