Heart Game: Duality - Round 2

Your sleep is restless, and it's hard to settle as your eyelids refusing to stop twitching, and you can feel an itch at the back of your mind, flashes of uncomfortable thoughts dipping in and out of your dreams, constantly interrupting your tries to relax. ... Are you even asleep?

Apparently you were, because you wake up with a start, cheek pressed uncomfortably to steel flooring and flickering lights overhead. Unfortunately, you don't feel very rested at all.

[ she is very thankful for that, because she can at least use her as a sort of crutch. ]

[ looks up and down the hall, trying to decide what her best option is... ]

[To the left are shadows, and to the right is a pinprick of light. Across the hall is a sliding door with a keycard/phone pad. It's currently closed, but the pad shows a green O, so it doesn't seem to be locked.

To the left of that is a traditional Japense sliding door. It's open, and pillows have started to spill out. Seems someone went in there.]

... [ she should probably avoid the shadows, but she's 0-1 on the bad decision making, so she's going to head in that direction. if it's a dead end, then she'll think about head in the opposite direction, but that's something for later. ]

[ to the shadowy left! ]

[You’ve chosen to walk the dark trek down the hallway and you eventually come up to a dead end? No, not quite, there’s an outline of a door on this wall, but there’s no immediate handle.

What do you do?]

[ bang her head on it and curse loudly. ]

[The door is cold to the touch, almost icy, and seems very stubborn. But your head banging causes it to creak slightly, so it's not pulled shut? It seems to go inward.

If you push hard enough, maybe you can open it.

A cat brushes against your legs as you stand there, contemplating. It looks up at you imploringly, tail lashing.]

...eh? [ that is not what she was expecting. blinks, shuffling back away from tokki and instructing her to ram it. ]

[ as she does she startles, looking down at the cat. ] OMG, look at you! [ crouches down with a bit of trouble, holding a hand out to her. ] You're so beautiful.

[It sniffs her fingers, then carefully bumps her hand, mindful of her injuries. This is what Duality looks like as a cat.

Tokki only needs to ram the door once, causing it to swing open and reveal only shadows behind it. A brush of cold air sweeps past your face, laced with uneasiness. There’s an indication of stairs going down. Do you want to venture inside?]

[ PFT. this is not nearly as bad as the other room. it's almost like child's play. also, she's got a cat to play with. ] Do you want me to bring you to Duality real quick? because I've got a date with [ an almost tired chuckle. ] tall, dark, and ominous~

Or maybe you'd like to come with me, though... that's probably a bad idea. [ she's going to force herself up from the ground. ] Unless you can nestle inside Tokki, kind of like I did back home...

[If you want to put the cat inside the mech, the cat won't protest.]

[ OMG CAT MECH. ]

[ this day went from worst to best in literally one second. ]

[ though it's about to go back to worst again, because let's head into the horrible cold darkness! ]

[You and your entourage descend into darkness.]
